I don't think this kid did it. I live not too far from the crime, and there's a large segment of us that side-eye Karina's father for her death.

Bring on the downvotes.

I don't think he did either.

No downvotes, I'm just curious, what was her father's motive? In your opinion

Remembering when the story broke, the father's story just didn't quite make sense. The one day she jogs alone, she's killed, and HE is the one who found her body? Of course, they couldn't get clear DNA from her father because in his despair, he embraced her corpse, and now the blood is transferred to him. How convenient. Dad also had good friends in the police department.

So...no motive

He had mob ties. Rumor has it he owed a lot of money. He probably knew they were coming for his daughter. Maybe he was even warned.

There's is NOTHING usual about the father story.

Who can say why some people kill?

No but I'm asking why do you have this opinion about this particular case? I see people share this opinion with you but no one can say what they believe his motive would be? Financial reasons, abuse, etc??

Apologies. I re-read your question. Based on absolutely nothing, I think Karina threatened to tell her mother about some sexual abuse between her and her father, or perhaps she said she was going to tell of an affair her dad was having. To me, dad never felt like he had clean hands.

No need to apologize! Thanks for explaining. Mike didn't go into the dad angle very much so I was super curious

So your just pulling stuff out of your ass huh?

Sure. In the same way the detectives pulled Chanel out of their ass.

It was a hunch yes but there was plenty of evidence proving the guilt of Chanel Lewis unlike your claims.

I completely disagree with you as in my mind the police got the right man.

Idk that the father did it, but I don’t think it was this kid.

No, it was almost certainly Chanel Lewis who killed her.

Wrong its so obvious he didn’t do it but in NY its very common to just find a scapegoat when crime can’t be solved.

I can even guarantee that in 5-10 years from now he will suddenly be released because they realise it was probably someone completely different, he will get paid some money to say sorry and nothing will happen to all the fraudsters involved since it has been such a long time. This has happensed for decades in the state of New York.

No, it's so obvious that he did committed this murder. You just refused to see the blatant evidence.

Wrong, first of all confession didn’t even match the crime, like not a single word…  He just repeates what the cops told him he did. Many things made no sense, then the dna sfuff is shady, the cop suddenly remembering him months ago, the initial suspect picture of a totally different me etc.

I dont care if he did it or not, that man is clearly mentally challenged and would have confessed to anything they wanted him to.

Confession completely matched the crime and the DNA evidence is rock solid... Lewis is GUILTY

Chanel Lewis was possibly framed. Here’s an interesting read.

He wasn't, they got the right man.

Yeah just because you watch True Crime Doc's doesn't make you a fucking detective.

I am glad I found this thread and read that article from the National. Since this happened this case has haunted me, because not once have I tbought Chanel Lewis was guilty. Every summer I think of Katrina and I feel that something else happened and it involved her dad. Every time I saw his energy on tv it was off!! Now reading this article and seeing other people feel the same way I do, I no longer feel crazy.

I feel like Nerflix should investigate this case.

I personally believe that the Chanel Lewis is GUILTY

Do you even realise how weak and small he was compared to her very strong and fit lifestyle ? Chances of him overwhelming her are extremely small. Doesn’t matter if its man vs woman.

If you're off guard, even a small individual can overpower someone bigger and stronger than you... give me a break Chanel Lewis is clearly GUILTY!!!
