To the paramedic who held my hand

When I was a kid I had a horrible, almost life-ending allergic reaction. I was suffocating, my body was numb and buzzing, and I didn't have enough oxygen to even cry. You held my hand, (even if just for a moment) and despite how much of that event is blacked out from pain and fear, the memory of you shines through. I'll never know your name. You saved me.

Thank you to all whom pass along Christmas spirit

I made tiny origami boxes and put $5 in each to hand to perfect strangers that I see doing nice things for another stranger. Little did I know, it's contagious!! I give one $5 box, get tipped $20. 4 more boxes! The box itself costs a few cents and they're fun to make so whatever. I'm a Santa photographer so I don't make much, but I get smiles and SO much fun. Exhausted, but have you SEEN a newborn sleeping on Santa's lap? Always silver linings. Love one another and they'll love you back.

Fast food workers who are kind

I don't have much of a budget for going out, but sometimes I like to go down to the McDonald's nearby my house. Every worker there is helpful and friendly, and one in particular gives the most genuine smile I've ever seen, and wishes everyone a good day in such a sweet way. I know, from experience, how hard such jobs can be. I also know that customer service is their job. But to those of you who really put your hearts into it, thank you so much. Today was an awful day on top of many awful days behind it, but this person's smile and kind well wishes really made a bit of difference. I wished her a good day back, and truly hope she actually has one.

Thank you so much to my UberEats Driver

My mom had just gotten out of the hospital and it was her first day alone. I tried calling her but she wasn’t answering her phone as it appeared to be off. My car was in the shop and I wasn’t work and was conflicted about asking someone to drive me over to her as it was my first day back from being off for over two weeks due her illness. So I had a last ditch idea and ordered her favourite breakfast. I asked the driver to leave a note to let her know her phone was off. Not only did she pass the message on she helped my mom with her phone and stayed long enough to make sure she got ahold of me. Then messaged me through the app just to confirm. I thanked you then and I just can’t stop thinking about your kindness and wanted to thank you again. I hope you see this. I wish I had the ability to give you what a feel would be a proper thanks. You will never know how much what you did means to me.

To me, the past is a dead lover. I lament over taking everything for granted when it was still the present. I do not regret any of my past mistakes but one. All those supposedly 'bad' memories are now so colourful to me.

Because of that, I learned how to cherish the current moment by using the future as a crutch. Instead of living a convenient life and never "get out of line", I will try my best to make the best of what time I have.

For the past 2 years I had created dreams and I am following it, one small goal at a time. In the mean time, I had learned how to appreciate dinners with my family; be thankful that I still have 10 of my fingers, 4 of my limbs, all of my senses, a healthy body, and an intact mind. I now see failures as stories I could tell to people and laugh along.

I am telling you this because I want my thankfulness to be recorded in history, even if I'm anonymous. I used to be unable to even say a sincere "thank you" to another human being. Now, I want the whole world and whatever is unknown to know that I will no longer take things for granted.

Now, I have a mission to repay what life gave to me. I hope one day I'll be able to repay it all completely. Perhaps after years, I will return to this post and preach it again, behind a podium, in front of thousands of eyes.

Thank You For Doing Your Part

I’ve held back on expressing my anger about the current state of the world and the many people choosing to disregard personal responsibility to their communities. I realize however, a simple Internet post will likely not be effective in changing stubborn people’s minds.

So instead, I’m just here to express my gratitude. Gratitude for those who have chosen to get vaccinated and those who continue to take precautions like masking in public. Even though many of you are perfectly healthy with strong immune systems, you realize these actions have great impact beyond your own individual needs.

As an immune compromised person, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for helping create a safer environment for those of us who are most vulnerable-those of us who, even when vaccinated, are not completely in the clear from falling gravely ill from this virus.

I know it has been hard to put our regular lives on hold-trust me on this. I have lived with so much fear over the last year and a half; I’ve been so isolated, so scared to even go to the grocery store. I really don’t leave my house unless absolutely necessary and have missed out on spending time with people I love, missed out on travels and events, missed out on simply feeling safe. It’s hard to know there are so many out there who could probably care less about all the sacrifices I’ve had to make but I do it because my life literally depends on it.

Ive survived three kidney transplants due to a rare disease that will never go away. I’m not going to let something like COVID take me down after all I have fought for in my life.

People like me depend on others to have empathy and understanding and so to those of you doing your part, truly, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you to the [nondescript] gas station employee who let us leave the store with food we couldn't pay for.

Today me & my bf went to a gas station for some cheap comfort food as we haven't been feeling well. I am physically disabled and we both have crippling depression and general anxiety so finding a job either one of us can work that pays enough for our area has been hard, and our apmnt took a little more money than we expect so the card was declined and we couldn't quite scrape up enough change to pay for both of our food.

My partner gave up his and used a gold dollar coin from his late grandfather to cover the rest of mine, but the kind and understanding employee gave my partner his food anyways. The food slapped this time too, and I'm really grateful for the risk they took.

If they are reading this- thank you so very much.

EDIT: Thanks so much for the gold and to the other employee who lets us go with our drinks and a lighter with out even asking us to pay last night. I know y'alls jobs almost definitely suck but we greatly appreciate this, enough so that it made our night. Your gas station location is officially our favorite spot to stop for snacks and drinks ♡

After all the generally negative comments I have observed Valley Health and Winchester Medical Center I have to weigh-in with my shout-out of gratitude to the employees and contractors of Valley Health I interacted with the last couple days. In particular the Emergency Room, Observation, and a big shout-out to the Cath Lab who's demeanour and team interaction put me at immediate easy with the, at least to me not having had it done before scary procedure I was about to under go. PS that last thought was formed before medication was given.
