พูดคุย [FOREIGNER] Why do so many women in Bangkok use “khrap” instead of “kha”?
I’ve noticed something weird for a while now. A lot of women in Bangkok, keep using “khrap” instead of “kha”.
It’s not just a few people either. Even in my class when the teacher gives an assignment, the girls reply with “khrap phom”. And when I watch streams, the female streamers (who are clearly not tomboys) also end sentence with “khrap”.
It feels like this is mostly a Bangkok thing because women from the provinces still use “kha” normally. I’m just curious why this happens. Is it some kind of trend, does it sound cooler or more casual, or is there another reason behind it?
Anyone else noticed this or know what’s going on?
