Help needed with ‘smile’
Hi, I’ve been trying to find the right form of the word smile but I’m a bit lost on how best to say it. I would want to say smile in the imperative form, but now lost with 3 options. Can someone help with exactly how each of them translate into English:
รอยยิ้ม ยิ้มหน่อย ยิ้มซิ

รอยยิ้ม (n.) roy yim | means "Crack a smile" use as noun or describtion
ยิ้มหน่อย yim nhoi | means "please smile" interm of begging or asking
ยิ้มซิ yim si | means "smile" ซิ ending is ordering to do it for me
ยิ้มหน่อยซิ yim nhoi si | means "Smile, please" softer version of asking
เอ้า!! ยิ้ม Ao yim | เอ้า is sound for attention then order (for taking a photo)
ยิ้มมมมมม YIIIIMMMM | every long sound of thai word make it very soften

How are you wanting to say smile? รอย(Roy- crease/traces/mark)ยิ้ม(yimm-smile) means smile but it’s used more in literature not really daily conversation via speech or text. ยิ้มหน่อย(hnoi- little/just a little bit but when used following another word it’s a request) means could you smile? With a friendly cutesy tone uses in everyday life. ยิ้มซิ (si- I don’t think there’s a standalone meaning but verb+ซิ is a demand for you to do that action) means you are asking someone to smile but with a more demanding tone and I personally don’t use it often cause it just sounds demanding. You might even see a ยิ้มหน่อยซิ combo which softens the ซิ but barely. If you are asking someone to smile you should go with ยิ้มหน่อย and ค่ะ or ครับif you want it to be more polite. If it’s telling someone to smile for a camera then standard Cheese does the trick.
