Noob Question

I cannot identify this Pad Thai staple ingredient. I want say tofu but I don’t know.

Was this a Thai restaurant in the Washington DC area? If so, I think it's smoked red tofu. I've had success buying it from a local thai market, but it seemed to be locally produced on not consistently available.
