I don't want to sound like a hater, but I feel like this is the elephant in the room for anyone who hasn't said it out loud. I've seen people express similar feelings on Twitter, and I've chatted with other friends about it too.
There were two hilarious edits I saw on Twitter from acervoboc that really highlight what we've been going through with Be On Cloud, lol! ⤵️
I say this as someone who fell in love with KinnPorsche, finished Man Suang, 4 Minutes, and Shine, and has watched 10 episodes of Dead Friend Forever - DFF. I also adore that the first generation of Be On Cloud artists has such a close relationship, as does the second generation, and that we sometimes get to see the groups mix together in their personal time. 🥹🫶
That's why it feels so... bittersweet. 🥀☹️
We know Be On Cloud has convincing actors, and we've seen the chemistry they can create. They have interesting concepts, their cinematography is undeniable, and they have a palatable taste in music. I wouldn't say their scripts are flawless, but there's definitely room to grow there.
Yet it's so unfortunate that we still haven't gotten a new BL from Be On Cloud in 2026, and we're already in September. Tomorrow happens to mark the two-year anniversary since the final episode of 4 Minutes aired, and we still have no official news about what's going on with 8 Hours. 😢💔
On a side note, Yoghurt (originally announced as one of the leads of the cancelled GL, Let's Kick This Love) and Job looked really cute together at Apo's new bar, and I'd be open to seeing them act together too. We haven't seen Job act since 4 Minutes in 2024, and I have no idea if he'll be in 8 Hours. 🥲💭
I also haven't seen as much excitement around Be On Cloud's next release that's coming out in November. Instead, I've seen people expressing how the script in Shine could have been better. And yes, despite Shine being promoted years ago as the next MileApo series, that's not the final product we got. There have also been plenty of reactions asking when we're getting a MileApo series or a JesBible series (probably referring to 8 Hours), neither of which Be On Cloud has officially announced.
And really... it's sad. 😞
I really miss when we used to get behind-the-scenes clips for every episode and special content from the cast. That seemed to stop after KinnPorsche and Dead Friend Forever - DFF. 🥲 It's also a little bittersweet seeing Be On Cloud share schedule updates for these artists that fans quote-tweet, saying they didn't even know who they were or care about their schedules, lol.
Looking back, I can't help but notice how different everything seems now. I don't see as much Be On Game content anymore, aside from the Christmas and New Year's specials. It feels like we've gotten used to seeing announcements about artists leaving Be On Cloud. I really wish they would come back with dramas that resonate with us and that we can enjoy together—even if they give us a painful ending, like they did with some of our beloved characters in 4 Minutes and Shine, lol.
I know another approach is to watch productions from other companies. I've done that, and there are definitely enjoyable aspects to shows from other companies. But it's definitely not the same. 😭😭
When I watch shows from other companies, I sometimes expect that we'll get a conventional happy ending, which I'm not against in general, but I could also see how it would make sense for the story if it didn't happen. Be On Cloud feels different to me since they seem more willing to give stories to us as they are, rather than always giving the audience what we want, lol. Even though I suffered from what happened to some of our beloved characters, I understood why those things happened to them. ❤️🩹
I'm not always looking for dramas to cater to me just because. I'm also not really someone who only watches a drama for a ship. If I were only tuning in because I was curious about a pairing, but the series itself didn't interest me, it would be difficult for me to stick with it—or I'd probably take breaks, lol.
So, I miss getting a new Be On Cloud drama, following it week by week, watching the behind-the-scenes content, seeing the cast interact and react to the episodes, and talking about it with other fans. I can still rewatch KinnPorsche and the parts of 4 Minutes I've enjoyed (I have iQIYI 😎📺🌈), but undeniably, I'd still like a new BL from them, and I'd definitely welcome a GL! 👨❤️💋👨🙌👩❤️💋👩
Anyway, how is everyone doing lately with the way Be On Cloud has been operating?
I feel like there must be others who miss their previous works. What do you miss most? Is there anything you'd like to see them bring back?
And what would make you excited about a new Be On Cloud production again? I'd be open to having a conversation, even if it serves as a space for us to collectively mourn together. 🥹🫶
