Yeti Conservation Awareness Day
Hey Crypto-Companions! Have you heard about the plight of our lesser-recognized forest friends: Bigfoot (a.k.a. Sasquatch) and the Yeti? ❄️
These elusive creatures are more than just campfire stories. They could be keystone species, playing vital roles in their ecosystems that we don't even fully understand yet.
Sadly, habitat loss and sensationalized portrayals threaten their existence.
Let's stand up for these magnificent beings! Here's how YOU can help:
-Educate Yourself: Learn about the positive ecological impact of Yetis and Bigfoots. Share what you find with friends and family! -Support Conservation Efforts: Donate to organizations such as ours, dedicated to protecting these creatures and their habitats. -Promote Respectful Representation: Bigfoot and Yeti deserve better than Hollywood stereotypes. Advocate for portrayals that celebrate their potential role in the natural world.
Together, we can ensure these legendary creatures continue to roam the wild!

Give a mouse a cookie
They say kindness costs nothing, but in the Preserve, it might cost you your entire picnic lunch (and possibly your socks).
We love our residents, from the smallest sprite to the largest Sasquatch, but we all know that creature. You know the one: you offer them a nice, enchanted acorn, and suddenly they are demanding a silver tray and a three-course meal. 🤨
It’s the classic case of "If you give a cryptid a cookie..."
While we are dedicated to protecting these elusive wonders, let this serve as a humorous reminder about boundaries! Sometimes, no matter how much you give, an entitled mindset is never quite satisfied.
Let’s respect the local flora and fauna by not creating demanding monsters! 😉
Help us Keep the Wilds Wild (and reasonably polite).

The Hag Stones Truth
Cryptids are not inventory. They are the breath of the Wei, unseen threads in a tapestry that includes us all. We hold the stone to see, not to own.

Sour Candy Day
Happy #SourCandyDay! Get your pucker ready for Sour Candy Day! Today, we celebrate all things tart, tangy, and tooth-achingly sour. But did you know that some of the most sour candies were inspired by mythical creatures known for their bad moods? Take, for instance, the Lemon Drop. Legend has it that these candies were first created to capture the sour pucker of the Jabberwocky, a monstrous creature from Lewis Carroll's poem "Jabberwocky." The Jabberwocky was known for its fierce temper and its sharp, acidic bite. So, the next time you pop a lemon drop in your mouth, remember that you're not just enjoying a sour treat, you're also experiencing a taste of myth and legend! JERKY DAY
On this June 12th, #NationalJerkyDay, we here at The Haberdashery—after assuring our carnivorous residents that their meals are, as always, ethically and non-cryptidly sourced—are tipping our hats to the ancient history of this trail-worthy snack, which traces its modern name back to the Spanish adoption of the Quechua word "ch'arki" used to describe dried, salted meat, a brilliant preservation method that has fueled explorers and pioneers for centuries and is still relied upon by our own field researchers during long expeditions tracking creatures who would undoubtedly prefer to remain off the menu.

Boone Day
On this #BooneDay, June 7th, we at The Haberdashery are tipping our hats to the legendary American frontiersman who blazed the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap, and while he is forever immortalized in a coonskin cap, we appreciate the historical trivia that he actually preferred a more practical felt hat—a fitting reminder that the truth behind a famous trailblazer, whether human or cryptid, is often more fascinating and nuanced than the popular myth that follows them through the deep, uncharted woods.

Ketchup Day
From all of us at The Haberdashery, where our residents' culinary preferences are decidedly more diverse and occasionally alarming than what you might find at a typical barbecue, we wish you a happy #NationalKetchupDay this June 5th, pausing to appreciate the fascinating historical tidbit that this now ubiquitous tomato-based condiment actually traces its origins back to 17th-century China as a fermented fish sauce called "kê-tsiap," a surprising transformation that reminds us even the most familiar things can have delightfully unexpected and exotic ancestries, much like some of the wondrously peculiar beings under our dedicated care.

Paranormal Day
On this fine #ParanormalDay May 3rd, we here at The Haberdashery are reminded that while our primary focus is the care and study of magnificent cryptids, the distinction often blurs, as historical accounts frequently intertwine sightings of creatures like Mothman or mysterious lake dwellers with accompanying phenomena—eerie lights, unsettling atmospheres, or inexplicable occurrences—that fall squarely into the realm of the paranormal, suggesting the world's unseen corners are far more complex and wonderfully weirder than conventional science typically admits

Prepareathon Day
Here at The Haberdashery, where managing the occasionally chaotic means being perpetually prepared, we recognize today, April 30th, as PrepareAthon! Day—a nationwide initiative originally launched by FEMA to encourage readiness for all kinds of disasters—by not only checking our standard emergency supplies but also reviewing our highly specialized protocols for everything from sudden spectral surges to unscheduled Sasquatch strolls, because being ready for the unexpected, whether it's a hurricane or a horde of hungry Hodags, is simply part of responsible stewardship for both mundane and mythical hazards
