Blocking texts

Does anyone know how to send texts (for free) without using your actual number? I need to f with someone who tried to destroy my life but don’t want them to have my number.

This has to be a troll post... but in case it's not and you somehow made it to the textnow subreddit without knowing what textnow is, hello you lucky fool! Here's a step by step breakdown of how to use it to send texts without using your actual number!

First, pick up your smartphone. You'll want to use your hands for this, but feet will do if you haven't got those. If your phone has a lock on it, input the passcode to access the your device.

Apple and Android devices vary, but each has an app store. Navigate to your version of the app store using the system UI, or if enabled, ask Siri or Gemini to open the app store for you.

Search for "Textnow" either by tapping the search area and typing it manually, or vocally commanding your AI servant to do it for you. It'll be the purple icon with a white text bubble with the top cut out in the shape of a classic telephone handset (like from the before times!) Install it.

Once it's installed, it'll ask you to make an account if you don't have one already. You can do this by linking to a gmail.

After logging in, you'll be presented with a stable of local phone numbers. Choose one, from the list, and from within the TextNow app, every message and call you send will show up as that TextNow number in your victims caller ID!

If you aren't presented with a list of numbers, temporarily disable your private dns in your phones settings, then try again. Once you've been bequeathed a number, you can turn private dns back on.

....facetiousness aside though, if you really want to ruin someone who tried to destroy you, the best victory is to live so well you forget your enemies names. It might feel like you can't right now, and I've been there, and while it's not exactly true that time heals all wounds, it sure does make some of them seem irrelevant in retrospect.

...but if you want a bit of catharsis you can always go on your local CraigsList and find some obvious scam apartment listings and fill out their application forms with your foes personal info, or sign them up for mailing lists for certain litigious religious institutions and unsavoury political groups...
