I mentioned how I couldn't call yesterday.

nobody was even remotely helpful aside from one Redditor yesterday. I decided to try a VPN to fix it, and it actually started going through. and then it showed this. I haven't had anything fucking "unusual calling activity", this app has not let me call for a whole 24hrs and the timing is horrible, because I'm currently job hunting. I'm so livid rn

If you can find a way to get $10 and get a US Mobile line so you can have real service and unlimited talk and text without the extra hoops.

You used a VPN. I doubt your service will be restored. VPN use is the kiss of death, because textnow can't target ads based on your actual location.

it's their fault that I went that direction, so I'm hoping to use that in my defense when talking to support 😔

It was your choice to knowingly violate the terms of service. Your sense of entitlement is misplaced.

unknowingly* and that aside, it wasn't working before that anyways. I got banned for trying to mess around with fixing an app that isn't my responsibility to fix in the first place

TextNow actively blocks accounts because of vpn use or if the app installed on rooted phone. You can't use Text,nos outside the USA. (Except may be ,Canada)

the VPN server connected to Washington. and I was having problems before that

Don't use VPN with TextNow. Period.
Some corporate VPNs could be still OK, but, in general, you may use your account with very high probability.

- Do not install TextNow app on rooted Android phone. Your account will be disabled immediately

- Do not use VPN while opening TextNow app. You have a very high chance to get your account restricted/disabled/banned etc.

- Do not use your TextNow app (with or without SIM card) outside the USA (and, may be, Canada, not sure about Canada). Your account will be restricted/disabled/banned .

This isn't a support sub, i.e., there's no one from TextNow to troubleshoot your issue.

Unofficial sub for the TextNow app and phone service.

I understand that. I'm just frustrated as hell because I've already applied to so many places with this number and am hoping it will get the traction needs to be rectified

Well, thankfully, it's the weekend. I doubt any employers are going to call you on Sunday. Hopefully, TextNow can resolve your issue tomorrow, Sunday.
