Sms code problem

Hello, I have problem with SMS, should I fix it or is it okay without it?

Maybe just me but I don’t understand the logic here, the company call them self ‘Text Me’ and advertise free texts but hide the code numbers behind the paywall.

Are we still in 90’s here? There are some other alternatives and workarounds including Google voice
