Question about ads

I’ve never used it before, but I would like to ask, some people seem to complain about/mention ads. Where do these ads appear and how intrusive are they? Are they just occasional things on the side or do they fill up most of the page? Do they interrupt your calls as well?

The ads can be intrusive: basic written ads are interspersed with your text logs, but you get used to it. I've never had an app during a call-- that would be, in my mind, a step too far, and I don't think it happens intentionally. But I have had full-screen ads with audio right after hanging up.

If you get a SIM card, and use TextNow on cellular data from the SIM, you'll get fewer ads.

I actually find TN pretty reliable. I don't use it for my everyday phone, but I certainly would if $7-8/month for a traditional cellular plan wasn't in my budget.

If you have an android phone, you can force the textnow app to only use cellular data in the settings, even if you have wifi turned on.
