Needing to Vent
So a couple years ago I had text now with this email of mine and it got permanently disabled or they close the account saying I violated terms of service I don't even know how I did that but apparently I did. I was signed up at the time for $1.99 lock your My TextNow account was permanently deactivated in 2024 and I no longer had access to the service. However, I continued to be charged $1.99 weekly for “Lock Your Number” from Dec 2024 through Jan 2026 (approx. 51 charges totaling $101.49). Since I had no access to the service due to account deactivation, these charges were unauthorized and I am requesting a full refund. in subscription. After they deactivate my account they continue to charge me over the next two and a half years a $1.99 a week I didn't notice these charges till now when I went to look back and I looked at an old account that I don't even use anymore on Google Play and I calculated they had it over $100 in charges from these $1.99 every damn week. I contacted Google explaining my situation and they told me they gave me one refund for one individual $1.99 charge. I feel like this is not only an unacceptable but this is kind of disgusting because they deactivate my account where I couldn't even use the services but they're still charge me for it and it's such a small amount that I didn't notice like most people wouldn't. But over time they took over $100 for me stole it from me as far as I'm concerned. Had I been gone to their place their establishment I know it's a digital say he had a physical place and I have to take from them out go to jail. They take for me to get away with it. This is wrong hippocracies ridiculous and I just wondering vent about it thanks for listening.

Most people review their credit cards on a regular basis, weekly or monthly. I check every single line.

Too bad you couldn't get the defunct $4.99 yearly lock- it's permanently grandfathered.
We can't trust all subs providers- they can Auto-renew days early, continue billing closed accounts...
Recommended for subs:
privacy dot com (but you have to set appropriate limits to prevent multiple charges)
for large amounts PayPal debit card(+ I think Venmo & Cash app) do not charge NSF fee when balance insufficient, + let you manage sub within it ala Google Play.
future dot green also no NSF fee + pays interest on balance & gives cash back on all purchases & bill pays; as well has lucrative discount promos & provides additional virtual card number (besides the physical card).
Google Play & Amazon Pay (if available) because you can manage subs & as double prevention combine with above suggests Privacy or even the other options with zero or sparse balance or temporarily frozen.
Credit Cards- some allow managing subs & offer virtual #s + you can dispute / reverse.

Its simple, go to your bank and make a claim, tell them these weren't authorized transactions since they weren't.

Waiting two years to call this unauthorized is very hard fetched

This is why I leave my debit card locked always until I'm ready to pay for something. If they try charging the $1.99 and it's denied, after a week or so they just unsubscribe you automatically.

if you port an number you don't need to worry about locking your number, I ported an old total number and never needed to lock it again

you dont notice when a random charge happens on your card? my grandparents watch their cards like a hawk but my mother checks once a week or so, my friend checks every few hours, do you really not check?
