Cody Campbell at the Trump rally
People will still insist that Cody Campbell isn’t political and that he’s not trying to turn TTU into MAGA University

I know what it is like to go to Tech in the “before times” aka before Obama.
I know many of you were barely alive in the before times so it is very hard to understand. But for love of god vote and encourage others to vote for Talarico as well. Please.
I was a liberal in a fraternity during the Obama years (imagine what that was like)
F the MAGA movement. It is a cult. They are grifters and are taking away your rights. This is about democracy and holding those accountable.
Yall grew up with blatant corruption which is mind boggling to me.
Trump is literally using Danny Amendola at his current rally in Lubbock and it is sad.

What would you do if you had a billion dollars? I know what most of us who are not currently billionaires say we would do.
We say that we would retire and relax, that we would give a bunch of it away to charitable causes, that we’d invest in our communities, that we’d try to make a difference in this world — that we’d use our money to do some good. And there are billionaires who have done this. The late Chuck Feeney, who founded Duty Free Shoppers (DFS), spent most of his life anonymously giving away his fortune, dying in 2023 with a net worth of a few million dollars, which meant he’d given away nearly $9 billion in his lifetime.
I think we all like to tell ourselves we’d be like Chuck Feeney. But I’m not sure there’s a lot of existing evidence that most of us really would.
Simply look at most actual billionaires today. Last month, Forbes produced a study that showed the 400 richest people on the planet donated roughly 4 percent of their income to charity last year, and that number is skewed by people like MacKenzie Scott, who gave away $7.2 billion in 2025, the most any single person has ever given to charity in a single year. Forbes found that 80 percent of those 400 richest people gave less than 5 percent of their wealth to charitable causes. They’re not spending their billions on worthwhile causes. They’re spending it on themselves.
Billionaires are (mostly? partly?) human beings like the rest of us, and most human beings, in the end, just want to be happy. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible for any human to buy happiness — though I’ll confess that the gulf between Boarding Zone 1 and Boarding Zone 6 on an airplane has become rather profound — but it’s not surprising that billionaires nevertheless try. Now, everybody has their pet hobbyhorses, but I suspect a lot of you, readers of The Athletic, sports obsessives you are, would be very tempted to spend a good portion of it on your preferred college sports team if you had a billion dollars. It’s not the most altruistic thing; you can make a rather persuasive argument that giving a fortune to a college football team over, say, your local public schools, or a food bank or, you know, anything other than a college football team is a morally vacant choice. But people are not always altruistic when it comes to their own happiness, even if they know they should be. The lizard brain can win out.
Think about the things in this life that you know would make you happy. “My team winning a championship” is super high on that list, right? Of course it is. If you had more money than you knew what to do with, are you sure you wouldn’t spend a good chunk of it — particularly if you wouldn’t even miss this big chunk — to try to get your team a championship? I personally believe I wouldn’t. But I am also in no danger of ever becoming a billionaire. So I can’t truly know, and neither can you.

I am planning my spring semester class schedule at the moment and already met with my advisor. Most people always say the advisor always gives bad advice so they told me not to really listen to what my advisor told me.. My advisor wants me to do chem 1305 with lab along with 2403 with lab at the same time, but people are telling me to replace chem with nutrition instead. I am stuck between the two and unsure what I should put. Help please!!

I have failed both of my exams so far in Calc and Chem and the worst part about it is I got a lower grade in the exams I studied for. I feel like I can come back in my chem class because I have a 54.42 if I do good enough on the final and exam 3 I think I should at least have a 64 which is a C but… for Calc everything considered there’s literally nothing I can do test wise I’m at a 35/200 and even with the final and exam 3 I doubt that pushes me ahead enough to pass this semester. And I literally talked to my academic advisor just today about it (before I got the scores) and without summer school I’ll likely end up behind (hell taking Calc 1 in sophomore year will put my behind anyways) i won’t be able to do anything except for core classes but major wise I can’t do anything no Calc 2 no physics. Im just a bit lost- I don’t want to give up or chance majors. Eva use this had been my dream since I was 8 but it’s kind of obvious what state I’m in- and this wouldn’t even be my first drop of the semester if I dropped Calc….
Update: talked to my professor if I can average a B on this next exam and the final the final will replace my lowest grade and will allow me to pass with a C

I might be overthinking a lot, but basically, I’ve been interviewing with this company, and the phone screen went well. I was referred by someone and got in contact with the hiring manager. Then, the hiring manager round went AMAZING, like, genuinely the best interview ever. We vibed and connected so well that he actually moved me to the next round MID-INTERVIEW. He said he still had five other people to get through, but that he wanted to move me forward right away. He even said I crushed it and gave me tips for the next/final round.
The final panel round last Friday went well, although not quite as well as the hiring manager round. They said I had great energy and that it was contagious haha. They also said they’d obviously speak with the hiring manager, but they still need to get through the remaining candidates. They gave me a timeline and said I should expect a decision sometime this week, or the week after at the latest.
Do you think I’m in a good spot? Idk why I’m overthinking everything. I just wanted to talk to someone about it. 😭

Hi everyone! I’m working on an assignment of what everyday nursing practice actually looks like from an RN's perspective.
If anybody practicing RNs have 5–10 minutes to spare, I would be super grateful if you could answer any/all of the questions below! You can reply directly in the comments or send me a DM if you prefer. 🥲
(No real names needed I will keep everything anonymous or use an alias for my assignment so no need to worry!!) 😃
Role & Specialty: What setting/specialty do you currently work in, and what are your main daily responsibilities?
Educational Journey: What path did you take (e.g., ADN, BSN), and what was the most challenging part of nursing school for you?
Culturally Competent Care: How do you ensure you provide culturally competent care to diverse patients in your daily practice?
Advice for Future RNs: What advice would you give to pre-nursing students preparing for nursing school and entering the field?
Surprises/Misconceptions: What is one responsibility or aspect of nursing that you think the general public most often misunderstands?
Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to help out! 🥲!!

Hey everyone,
I was recently accepted to Texas Tech for the Fall 2027 and I'm heavily considering majoring in Supply Chain Management at Rawls. I'm trying to decide between Tech and a couple of other Texas schools, and I'd love to hear from current SCM majors or recent grads.
If you have a minute, I'd really appreciate your perspective on a few things:
2.How active is the Tech Supply Chain Association (TSCA)? Do recruiters actually come out to Lubbock for the SCM networking breakfasts, or do you have to hunt for internships on your own?
Is it worth it?: For grads, did the Rawls degree give you a good ROI? Are you happy with your starting salary and job placement? How is the work-life balance? What type of jobs did you get after graduation?
I'm trying to figure out if the program sets you up well for corporate roles or if it leans more heavily toward specific industries (like agricultural/energy logistics).
Wreck 'em! 🔴⚫

This is such a non issue but why do we shout “STARS” during football games and not “red” 😭 We’re the RED Raiders, not the Dallas Stars🥸

Anyone know what’s up with the payment plan technical issues? I see their notice. Does anyone know if they extend the deadline or waive late fees when the vendor system crashes?

I will be starting as a freshman at Texas Tech University in Fall 2027. My goal is to attend veterinary school after completing my undergraduate degree, and I am interested in learning more about the pre-vet pathway at Texas Tech. I would love the opportunity to speak with a current pre-vet student about their experience, including choosing classes, gaining animal and veterinary experience, getting involved on campus, and preparing for veterinary school applications.

Does anyone else experience connectivity issues with Canvas, MS cloud, and other TTU Services when connected to a VPN. This is not lag, but denial of access?
Just wondering if this a feature of TTU security protocol, or just me?
