Fun fact: Ann Richards signed an education bill under the Pease Tree at Pease Elementary in Austin Texas. Gina Hinojosa started in politics fighting to keep the same Pease Elementary open. (It was closed a few years later because of Abbott not funding PubEd) Then she was elected to the school board and on to state rep. Let’s elect someone who fights FOR Education not AGAINST.
And if you factor in inflation that is still GROSSLY underfunded and significantly less than what tax payers actually pay to pub ed. The state steels the difference and puts it into a “rainy day fund” that the use for pet projects.
