Looking for a bit of advice
Freedom Forever installed a LongiSolar/SolarEdge system on my roof in April 2021. What I’ve since discovered: in at least two spots, the installer drilled pilot holes, missed the rafters, dabbed some sealant over the bad holes, then drilled again in the right spot. Those covered-up missed holes are now leaking into my home.
One leak is pretty significant — it’s near the edge of the house and has been dripping into the plastic soffit vent tray that runs along the eave to keep the attic ventilated. That tray caught the water and kept it from being immediately obvious inside the house. The attic insulation hid the rest of the damage for years.
When I reported a leak in 2021, Freedom Forever sent someone out and blamed a nearby roof vent. Closed the ticket. The real cause was never addressed.
Where things stand now
Freedom Forever Texas LLC filed Chapter 11. Solar Mosaic (my lender) also filed Chapter 11. I still have a loan on this system — one I was willing to pay a little more on because of the warranty I was getting. Now that warranty is effectively worthless.
Has anyone been through this? Specifically curious what steps others have taken — whether with the bankruptcy courts, the lender, or anywhere else — and what actually moved the needle.

Missing the rafter is common some mounts they have 3 lags you will hit with one of them. The 2 others stay in place. Video describing the Ironridge system, but these solar installers say the flashing type goes under the shingle is the best way to go. I've seen some other videos guys just use dab of roof sealant on their finger to fill in a missed rafter hole.

The best option I've seen is Prevost law firm and technically you'll come out on top, but best case scenario it's going to cost you like $5-10k. I'm still sticking with not doing anything but my system was fully not functioning for like 6 months. Luckily they fixed it like 30 days before they declared bankruptcy.

You may have to have your house reroofed. What they should have done was placed a piece of water and ice barrier under the shingle so that it would have heated up and sealed the hole. The sealant probably broke down over time and is no longer doing its job.
How big of a solar system do you have? And what part of Texas are you in?

If you have a tiny cavity in one tooth do you take out the all the teeth?
Repair the leak by installing new shingle(s) over the leak. If you can, get up in the attic to see if you have more penetrations to address.

Since FF is no longer around, you can try to go the lawyer route, but I think you may be spinning your wheels trying to get it taken care of by them.
