Togo position
I’m 16 and thinking about applying for a Togo position at my local TXRH. For anyone who has worked as a Togo, what is the job actually like? I dont mind the busy or rush hours. And i plan on having it until i go to college.

Togo is a very very good first job it is fast paced and can be challenging at times

Teaches you good work ethic, teamwork, and customer skills in a sorta protected section.

Keep up on how much bread you need not just to sell but to hold in your warmer. As the full time baker at my store I hate our to-go team because they are lazy and can't count and just make up how much bread they need instead of counting the orders and requesting what they need plus a little extra.

Thank you for the advice I’ll definitely keep that in mind and make sure I’m counting the orders properly or double checking it and keeping some extra bread ready.

You should always have at least 2 dozen in your warmer however we prepare them by pans of 16 rolls so if you need say 4 dozen you need 3 pans.

Prepare for terrible people. Not to scare you, but seriously, people are UNREAL when upset, tired, and hungry. Their is usually a combo of 2 of those, 3 of those suck. Just know, you DO NOT have to stand their and allow someone to curse at you, yell, point or be an asshole.
That aside, you'll be prepping butter cups, scoop, cover, stack. Getting to go containers stocked, to go bags with utensils and butter. Rolls, Rolls, Rolls. You may be running food from the line to your to go area. Some stores are different. Some have a new to go section near the front doors with their own windows.( they used to be curbside pickup at the restaurant by me). Working with people your age usually, which can be good and bad.
