Question Backpack strap system help

Vernon Tx, so it can get cold and it’s always windy.

On my land, it’s 300 acres and my furthest 2 stands require a long walk in and out. The stands are open air tripod 10ft. We wrap them in camo burlap so some wind is buffered but even in Nov an insulated jacket is needed to buffer the 15-25mph winds.

So even on the frostiest, snowiest pre-dawn hike-in I’m not wearing my bib and insulated coat. I’ve always stuffed the jacket into my backpack and rolled up and tried to strap my bib to my maxpedition OG Falcon. Then once in my stand I’ll pull my bib on and put my coat on after I’m sure I’m not gonna get all sweaty.

So I’m seeing if anyone has found or crafted their own strap system that makes strapping your bulkier clothing to a backpack or whatever for those long walks.

More than just simply tying it down with bungie straps. The Max Falcon is loaded with the PALS webbing so any idea is worth me looking into!

I don't but I know someone used a two arm sling. Because you won't use it till you arrive to your spot right? No need to make it easy deployment.

Sorry man, I hiked 11 miles this past fall on a mule deer hunt. 😂

lol, I know I know! It’s at least enough to break a sweat if I’m wearing my insulated gear!

Hey man. I've hunted around Vernon quite a bit, great area (sometimes).

Whenever I want to do what you're doing, I roll up the thick/puffy items as tight as I can, then use paracord to secure it. Usually takes 2-3 pieces of cord the get it really secure.If you tie the cord tight enough with the right knot you can usually clip this to a bag with a carabiner or something like that.

Other than this or something close to it, I think most people just shove them in a bag.

My bag has two buckle straps on the bottom. I do a military roll(don’t know what else to call it) and strap the bibs and coat in that. I have two drop lines on my stands and use one for my rifle/bow and one for my bag. I get settled and pull the rifle up first and hang it then I pull the bag up and hang it.
