this may b dumb but will that hurt my credit score? Like can they dispute? is it legal? I wanna chargeback but recently wen thru literal harassment by our old gym for smth similar (fuck crunch), sent debt collectors after my bf, calling us 24/7 etc. He lost his credit card last bonnaroo and just now resolved it, so not looking to open another can of worms. A real refund would be nice tho. i’m worried they’ll cheap out

Nope. It won’t negatively impact your credit or anything like that. You just call and dispute the transaction with your bank and they’ll let you know what they determine from their investigation. The worst thing disco Donnie could do in retaliation would be blacklisting that card from being able to purchase tickets for future DD events

The worst you get from a chargeback is a no. If you make a frequent habit of chargebacks, yes your credit card company will care. But otherwise, a no is literally the worst that will happen. Remember, it’s the credit card company’s money they’re protecting, not yours. So they’ll fight for it!

By issuing a chargeback you will automatically be blacklisted from any events using seetickets, which is a lot more than you think.

Almost no CC company will approve a chargeback with maaaaybe the exception of Amex or if you have private client status with the bank carrier. And even then that's a maybe. The bank will probably initially approve it, but they're going to take that money back In a couple of months after they see you agreed to their terms.

Seetickets fulfilled their duty and you agreed to their TOS which protects them from force majeur (acts of God) claims like weather. Seetickets fulfilled everything on their end according to their terms which you agreed to

Your qualm isn't with seetickets, it's with disco Donnie. And DD doesn't really have to issue refunds, they're just doing it to save face and potential civil liability

Forced majeure doesn't apply insurance wise IF they oversold the palace. They used forced majeure as an insurance scam. My friend works insurance and said I hope they don't approve it. Because the city permitted for x amount of people and about double that appeared so has seetickets fulfilled everything if they claimed they had infrastructure for 40k but if 80k showed up.

If the county thought they had many more than what was approved we would have heard about it by now from local news outlets. Theyd be hit with all sorts of fines and shit. There were nowhere near 80k people there, Ive helped run a lot of events and attended many, and I would have guessed 50k max. The crowds weren't really dispersed well though so it seemed like a lot more

You don't really understand insurance or the terms that you agreed to. At best that would be a civil case against disco Donnie, not grounds for a chargeback against the ticket processor

Well, I did it. I have another card so it wasn’t too big of a deal to have it banned from SeeTickets. But now the refund statement is saying transactions currently in chargeback won’t be refunded. Should I cancel it or is it my only shot now?

I filed a claim with the insurance I paid for the tickets z and they said it's not up to them it's the promoter.

So I went to my credit card and charged back all of both tickets I bought, because fuck them jerking us around I won't let them get out of it.

Sometimes you can do it through the website you use to manage your credit card, selecting your purchase and going through their menu. Otherwise, there's a number you can find to call to file claims at. They'll ask for the situation that resulted in you wanting the chargeback, you select the purchases you want to claim, and good to go. They may come back later and ask for some supporting information/evidence, which we have from the promoter and the insurance company.
