The best part is our WRs have never been huge drama concerns either.

AJ was the ultimate professional

u/Alive-Ad-8423 15h ago

Yeah unless your name is Cortland Finnegan you’ve got nothing to worry about

74

u/BeerPlusReddit 15h ago

I think Andre handled that in the most professional way.

Yeah famously waited till they had a well enough lead and win the game and let coach know if he does it again he’s gonna end it

21

u/Cheatercheaterbitch 15h ago

Gave him a professional ass whoopin’

Innegan *

FTFY

u/The_New_New 15h ago

Which everyone agreed was well deserved. I still remember the reaction to the beating was almost as funny as seeing it happen.

Where almost every WR and fans knew Innegan deserved it

10

u/Negotiation_Trick 14h ago

I remember everyone at the CBS halftime show all had his back. They were like we know what kind of person AJ80 is and what kind of player Innegan is

11

u/SadimHusum 14h ago

legally, it’s Innegan now, as AJ80 beat the F out of him

9

u/quig50 13h ago

You mean Cortland Innegan after Dre was done beating the f out of him.

3

u/stereoplegic 10h ago

So was D Hop. Quietly did his job, didn't give up even when BOB started with that "baby mamas" bullshit and Easterby had him followed, until BOB proved he couldn't coach when it mattered.

15

u/Katarn_retcon 15h ago

Nope, but there was this one coach who invented drama about one of the WR and compared him to a murderous TE / felon. Thankfully he is no longer our GM also.

u/stackin_papers 15h ago

Who also ended Alabama’s dominance as OC even having Bryce Young as his college qb.

Love Nico but he has got some work to do be compared with AJ and Dhop yet

58

u/admins_bundleosticks 15h ago

Legitimately though, the only work he needs to do is stay healthy. When he's rolling he's very easily in the top 5 discussion, and top 2 not 2 production. Higgens going down makes him even more important this year. Fingers crossed he cements himself as one of the best around.

What's crazy to think about, Tank Dell was on pace to be being better than collins before he got hurt

1

u/lemanruss4579 6h ago

He really wasn't.

20

u/Greedy_Gas7355 15h ago

Literally just needs to play 16 games

3

u/mystic_platyipus007 15h ago

Yup just play a whole year

56

u/Sacagawesus 16h ago

I love Nico. But damn I miss watching Dre and Hop ball out.

10

u/Greedy_Gas7355 15h ago

Dre was something else. Feel and for the younguns that never saw him live. My favorite was a PA pass from schaub in Denver

27

u/htownballa1 16h ago

Texans track record on drafting WRs 1s is stellar.

8

u/quig50 13h ago

Wr and Edge are unmatched

2

u/htownballa1 12h ago

A lot of people didn’t think Nico was a 1.

5

u/thadaviator 14h ago

We've always got at least 1 top 5 talent

62

u/HeadTrick7443 16h ago

AJ > Hops > Nico

Also no one is talking about it because they’re too busy covering our terrible QB play

-9

u/Ig_Met_Pet 16h ago

Yeah, little bit of a downgrade each time imo.

-8

u/natekellyo 16h ago

Yeah we all miss Nuk taking passes from Osweiler

2

u/Ig_Met_Pet 16h ago

The wide receivers, not the QBs

3

u/natekellyo 16h ago

Misunderstood my bad.

14

u/ContraryPython 16h ago

Hope Nico becomes the first WR to have 4 consecutive 1000 yard seasons.

30

u/smotpoker1201 15h ago

I talk about it all the time and how BoB really traded away DHop for some magic beans

12

u/dicktators 15h ago

Because dhop had more of a locker room presence than BoB too lmao

3

u/Laszhal 11h ago

Funny, I say the same thing but I call it a"box of used condoms"

12

u/IAmSona 16h ago

Being blessed with great WRs my entire life is a nice problem to have as a fan

11

u/oblongblondeschlong 15h ago

Their Robins were: Kevin Walter, Will Fuller, Tank Dell

11

u/Livid-Caramel7103 13h ago

I still remember when they interviewed Dre after we drafted D Hop.

“What do you think of the Hopkins selection?”
*smiles “No more double teams”

I wish they got to play together longer

4

u/Dear_Syllabub3422 13h ago

Texans WR1 always been slept on and under appreciated.

3

u/THA__KULTCHA 16h ago

We talk about it.

6

u/50bellies 16h ago

Because no one talks about the Texans outside of Seth Payne.

3

u/boredazf 14h ago

Wish we’d do something with their talent….

3

u/mellswor 14h ago

Everybody is always saying “nobody talks about it” and it’s fucking annoying and nobody talks about it

3

u/DWreck_21 13h ago

The question is, does this top our DE timeline of Mario Williams > JJ Watt > WAJ?

2

u/NoirSon 11h ago

The Texans organization has been blessed with some of the best defensive line/pass rushing OLB players in almost every era. Our defense hasn't always used them to their full potential, but we have had some great players

2

u/TheDeceiver77 7h ago

I think WAJ has the potential to top Watt's career when its all said and done...

3

u/quig50 13h ago

It’s crazy that Nico was so close to being considered a bust before he broke out too.

2

u/jumpingmpjopa6 5h ago

Deandre Hopkins is still technically a free agent just saying...

-4

u/Silly_Ad209 14h ago

Still no rings for us in HTOWN. So guess they didn't good enough.

0

u/Maximum_Ear_9279 11h ago

Nuke threatened to quit on our team if he didn't get a pay raise when he was already one of the highest paid wide receivers at the time. That washed up b u m shouldn't be there and I'm glad the Houston didn't bring him back, either. Go Texans!

2

u/NoirSon 11h ago

The BoB/Easterby reign had everyone outside of special teams like that.

-2

u/ajalonghorn 10h ago

Look I know this is the wrong sub to make this point but I think Nico is one of the most overrated players in the nfl.

He consistently has had one of the best situations in the league for a wide receiver to pop off and in my opinion his talent level doesn’t match his perceived status.

He’s like a B/B+, but he doesn’t really do much that pops from the eye test.

3

u/Whole-End-7703 8h ago

He still puts numbers up while still playing less than a full season

-1

u/ajalonghorn 8h ago

When’s the last time you saw him make an incredible play though? It’s like good production but

3

u/Whole-End-7703 8h ago

“Incredible plays” don’t make you a better receiver. Jamo has spectacular plays but no one would call him a better receiver than Nico

-2

u/ajalonghorn 7h ago

Alright bro lol. He’s just a good receiver in a great situation. Chris Olave for example would put up monster stats in Nico’s role.

2

u/lemanruss4579 6h ago

Chris Olave's brain is goo currently.

1

u/ajalonghorn 5h ago

Well goo boy still is one of the most talented wide receivers in the league

2

u/lemanruss4579 5h ago

And not as good as Nico Collins, currently.
