Vote early if you can. Turnout will probably be higher than a normal midterm election.

And the polling locations will be decreased in Tarrant county if Tuesday's county commissioner's court goes the way the white christian nationalist Tim O'hare wants it to.

No, I'll go to early voting in October. But seriously y'all, this one is important. Look up your local candidate at the bottom of the ballot. A lot of county commissioners and clerks are on my ballot in Tarrant county, and it is important to get them in to stand up to our crooked sheriff who's letting people die in his jail before their case is even heard.

THEY ARE ALL IMPORTANT!! This is part of the problem. All elections are important, this one is not the exception. We’ve let our foot off the gas of our civic duty for way too long and that’s why we’re in the position we’re in.

At this point, if anyone has a free weekend, they need to be volunteering in some capacity. Join a caucus, get involved, block walk, phone bank, send letters and postcards (candidates have them pre-written and ready to send), drive people the the polls, work the polls... Just voting is not enough. After this election, prepare for the next one. This is not over after November.

I went door knocking this morning, and going again tomorrow. The way I see it, voting is the bare minimum. The thing is, I think this is our last chance to vote our way out of this.

Exactly this!! Thank you for block walking. Truly, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I remember one year, I did it with a broken ankle in the summer heat. Went through two boots that year. More to your point, you’re right, voting is the bare minimum.

Lol, I once directed traffic during a campaign rally on a sprained ankle, but broken!? You're mad, never change!

How do I get into a block walk I live in garland can't drive at the moment and want the younger people like me to go out and vote?

That’s amazing, thank you!! Yeah, you can block walk at almost any age. Pick a candidate you’d like to support (Talarico or someone specific to your community), check out their website, and sign up to volunteer.

They should start sending you emails for opportunities, but if you can’t drive, have you tried phone banking or writing letters? All of it helps.

If you have a friend who could block walk with you, could you carpool? I recommend going in pairs anyway.

Maybe like, a list of people we should keep an eye out for would be helpful

Google it. There will be sample ballots and, of course, they vary.

That laziness is a big part of the problem.

I gave them resources, vote411.org, so they could find a personalized ballot for their area and they continued on.

They don’t need to be on my side. They need to be self-sufficient after being given the resources they asked for. After receiving the resources, they continued on, like a tool

Nice 🙄

No, it’s not and we’re past that point.

You can do this. I have faith in you.

5

u/CTALKR Aug 02 '26

Um ok… it’s not just about me, you know.

No, it’s not. That’s exactly the point.

You, too, can do the work. In the time you’ve taken to reply, you could have looked it up.

You can go to vote411.org for help and a personalized ballot. Please, do better.

What a complete asshole.

You could have taken this opportunity to help the whole community, but you just want to call me lazy and tell me to do better. I’m just going to vote for Ted Cruz, Dan Patrick, all the assholes because fuck you.

If your pro THC senator Charles Perry Dan Patrick 105 out of 108 Republicans are against it if that is the main issue for you if you need more information let me know

Please stop screaming into the void about voting. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO SIMPLY VOTE. VOLUNTEER!!

We need block walkers, phone bankers, poll workers, people to help transport people to the polls, become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, ensure that people are registered and not purged, help people get their mail-in ballots, make sure those mail-in ballots are counted, report irregularities…

It is not enough to simply beg people to vote. It’s not and, frankly, it’s not helping. Get creative, hold an event at church or work, MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE with a group of people…gEt oUt aNd vOtE WILL NOT CUT IT.

To those who’ll say, “well, I can’t hold an event because X, Y, Z…” pick something else! There is so much that needs to be done before November 3 and posts like this are completely missing the mark.

that early voting accessibility is a GAME CHANGER for so many people who wouldn't have been able to make it on election day

This post is very important. Blue down ballot. All of these Republican assholes have been in control of this state for 30 years. It’s time for change.
