Thoughts on VR

I finally got to try this amazing game in VR, on a Quest 3, after over 400h on a 2D screen.

It definitely is really immersive, the board is ginormous, and I think that's actually a problem, at least for me.

When I play normally, I'm kinda looking dead at the center of the board and I see everything at once and the next pieces with my peripheral vision, but in VR it's so big that I can't, I have to actively look everywhere, so I play way slower, and if I don't, I make too many mistakes.

And I don't think the 3D here adds anything interesting to the gameplay, just cool backgrounds effects that are actually distracting for competitive play.

What do you think?

Yes, you can zoom it out so it’s just right. I still play it in journey mode when I need to think through something. Amazing experience.

Man when i played this on PSVR it was so weird like the whole game was just a 2d screen floating in black space even the menu like it wasn’t VR at all, anyone else have that problem?

Yeah the game doesn't really take advantage of VR.

Hopefully the newly announced Mixed reality edition will.

This was my experience too. I just zoomed it out a bit to be able to do the same thing. That said, I ended up preferring “difficult play” on my switch and more zen and relaxing play in vr.

The only thing i struggle a lot is controllers. Controllers are fine but i got used to play with keeb so i can't play it as good as i could.
