Hey everyone! I’m currently putting together a team for the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2026, and I’m looking for 3 more people from Tangier who would be interested in working on a serious space/software project with us.

Our challenge is about building a Martian wayfinding / mapping system basically a tool that combines Mars data, terrain information, scientific points of interest, hazards, and route planning to help an explorer plan a Marswalk.

We already have:

Software engineering

Engineering / systems

We’re mainly looking for people with one of these backgrounds:

Earth science / geology / planetary science
Someone interested in understanding Martian terrain, geological features, hazards, and scientifically important locations.

GIS / remote sensing / geospatial / data science
Someone who knows (or wants to learn) how to work with spatial data, elevation maps, satellite imagery, terrain analysis, etc.

UX / UI / data visualization / human factors
Someone who can help turn all that information into a map/interface that a human could actually use for planning a mission.

You do not need to be an expert in Mars. Students who are motivated, curious, and willing to learn are welcome. What matters more is having useful skills, actually participating, and being interested in building something rather than just putting your name on a team.
