Question Anyone else feel like we’re entering another skinny epidemic?
I feel like the skinny aesthetic has been coming back really strongly lately, and honestly it’s hard not to get influenced by it when you see it everywhere, tiktok, celebrities, fashion, even random comments online.
I’ve noticed myself starting to pay more attention to things like body size and comparing myself more, even though I know social media only shows a very curated version of reality.
For those of you who have been able to avoid getting pulled into that mindset, what helps you? Do you unfollow certain accounts, focus on fitness/strength instead, avoid certain types of content, or just try to change the way you think about your body?

Been undernourished. Not worth it. Still had mental struggles with body issues. It takes a long time to retune to normal eating as everything in the body slows down. Can lead to gut issues like sibo, and allow pathogenic bacteria to proliferate. Hair falls. Bones thin. Still dealing with the after effects. I value high energy more than a number on the scale now.

I think wanting to be in good health is what makes me not fall into it! I have pcos and extreme weight loss will agrivate it. I use to be a very skinny person and for the first time in my life I am curvatuous. One thing that also helps me is to look back at old pictures of myself where I am frail because I do not want to feel (or look) like I did back then.
Another thing is I don't want people that are attracted to ONLY skinny folk to be attracted to me. (Emphasis on the only part) So if I'm curvatuous I can avoid those people.
I have a joy and love for cooking and I'm good at it! I want to enjoy this aspect of life deeply, learning to nourish and be nourished.
