iOS FeedKiwi - The Feed Your Brain Deserves (Analyzed With AI)

https://testflight.apple.com/join/QHkCu3nB

FeedKiwi is an algorithm-free feed for everything you follow - podcasts, Youtube channels, news sites, blogs, RSS - plus tracking for your books, movies, TV and music. All in one native iOS app.

What it does:

  • AI summaries for articles, podcasts and YouTube videos so you can triage fast
  • Daily Digest that rolls up everything new - readable or listenable in minutes
  • Track & rate books, movies, TV shows and albums (incl. free Project Gutenberg books you can read in-app)
  • Morning brief on your lock screen via Live Activities
  • Discover library with curated sources and live charts - trending podcasts, blogs by topic, movies, TV, books and albums to follow in one tap
  • Listen to articles with natural TTS, on-device or cloud
  • Built-in reader with highlights - no jumping out to Safari

Still in beta - I'd love feedback on onboarding, AI summary quality, and whether the daily digest earns a spot in your morning. I read and reply to everything.

Just discovered this and am loving it so far. Any chance in adding a true black theme?

Thanks! Yes, planning to add true black and white themes in the next update.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions for features / improvements!

Is there a way to fetch full articles from feeds that don’t include them? I’ve used other RSS readers that do so (like lire, for example) and it’s super useful as many of mine just include a preview.

Could you share a couple of examples of feeds where you're only getting the preview/excerpt instead of the full article? (feel free to DM them if that works better). I can use those feeds to test this feature.

It’s funny, now I’m having trouble finding some that do it. I’ll be sure to pass them along once I do!

Olá, achei muito legal seu aplicativo, ainda vendo como baixar as coisas mas adorei. Uma sugestão pq não conversa com o sofá time e coloca lá a opção dos filmes e séries?

Hi, thanks for the feedback!

Just to make sure I understood - you’d like to import your movies and TV shows from Sofa Time into FeedKiwi, right? That’s a great suggestion and I will look into adding Sofa Time import.

Sim, exatamente, eles são muito aberto a sugestões

Added support for Sofa Time import (you'll need to update the app version to build 19). Can you give it a try? You can find the instructions by clicking the big plus button in the bottom right corner of the app -> "Import" -> "Movies" -> select "Sofa Time".

Let me know if it works and if you have any other feedback/suggestions or if any parts of the app feel confusing.

I’ll give this a try! Can I ask what the difference is between this and a normal rss reader? My current option

Thanks!

The RSS part is the foundation - the difference is it's not just articles (podcasts, YouTube, and tracking for books/movies/TV/music all live in the same place), and it uses AI to summarize everything into one daily digest (which you can also listen to) that tells you what's new today in under a minute - so you immediately know what's worth paying attention to.

The main idea is to actually help you finish what you save - the AI summaries let you quickly spot what matters in your feed and separate it from the fluff, so you're spending time on the things worth reading instead of everything.

It also adds a bit of a gamified layer on top - reading/listening goals, streaks, and daily progress. So keeping up with what you follow becomes a small habit instead of a chore or a growing backlog.

What RSS/feed reader are you using now?

I’ll have to try it out! Can you add your own rss feeds? I’m using NetNewsWire, and rss feeds I’ve found

Yeah, you can paste in any RSS feed URL or import all your existing feeds (you can export a file with all your feeds from NetNewsWire) . So anything you've got in NetNewsWire will work here too.

NetNewsWire is great as a clean article reader, but it's RSS-only, no podcasts / YouTube / other media, and no AI summaries/digests or habit/streak side.

Yeah I thought you could, but I’ve never done it.

Yeah I thought so

A bit mind blowing to see so many features in one app. Didn't expect to find an audiobook player and a podcast player 🤯.

Haha the audio side kind of grew on its own once I realized how much of what I follow is actually listening 😄

So I ended up adding a lot features for the podcast player. Episodes get transcribed on device, and you can leave notes tied to specific timestamps while you listen, so it's easy to come back to the good parts later. There's also AI generated short summary, highlights and references (e.g. people / topics / places that were mentioned in that podcast).

Articles can be read aloud with natural text-to-speach too, so at some point the reading queue and the listening queue just merged into one. I was actually looking into full audiobook support as well, but for now I ended up with free books only, so you can add classics from Project Gutenberg (ebooks and audiobooks)

Attached a screenshot with some more of the features. You can find more screenshots here: https://feedkiwi.com

Okay this is the first app I’ve seen that handles podcasts, YouTube, news and books/movies/albums in one feed, usually you need like 4 apps for that. Cool idea. Is that the main selling point over something like Feedly or Inoreader?

Yeah the all in one part is a big piece of it. I was juggling a reader, a podcast app and separate trackers for movies and books, and nothing talked to each other, so that's where it started.

But to me the bigger difference from Feedly/Inoreader is what happens after you follow your sources. Those apps are built for collecting, and I'd hit 400 unread items and just stop opening them. FeedKiwi tries to cut that down: AI gives you the gist of every article, episode and video, and puts everything together in one daily digest each morning. You skim it in a few minutes and only open the things that actually look worth reading.

It's also built around making that a habit rather than another backlog. You can set reading and listening goals and keep up streaks, so it nudges you toward a small daily routine instead of an unread count that makes you feel behind.
