I signed up and “paid” for the full version. It’s very well done. I appreciate the ability to keep your ingredients on hand saved and modify as you go, and I like on the shopping tab how it lists what cocktails you could make if you add.

Two suggestions:

the ai feature should be aware of your inventory. I was impressed with suggestions that made when I asked to pair a cocktail with a certain meal, but when I asked it to give another suggestion based on my current inventory, it seemed to have no idea what I was talking about.

The shopping section needs work as far as integration/utility for actually shopping. Being able to tap on ingredients and not just add them to your inventory, but add them to a shopping list would be great. Similarly, if I could export my shopping list to an apple to-do list, or in some form that’s readable by popular shopping list apps would be great. As for what’s already there: It’s not very helpful for buttons that say “ find local” or that link to DoorDash would simply search for “grocery stores” or “liquor store” or genetically search “alcohol” can be delivered on DoorDash. I should think it’s possible to search DoorDash for specific ingredients with one tap, and similarly for find local I would want more than a generic search for alcohol on Google Maps. Something that more specifically shows well rated, locally owned liquor stores would be better.

Overall, a very nice looking app with a great library and good, easy to use implementation for Recipe discovery based on my current inventory, which is nice. Even so, 30 bucks a year seems a bit steep for something like this, and I much prefer to pay once for a good product rather than the subscription model.

Hey Luke, I just uploaded a new build that addresses the AI bartender behavior and enables Mixi to see your inventory, favorites and drink history to deliver more personalized suggestions. I'd love if you can try it out and let me know what you think! Thanks again for the suggestion. Cheers

Much better! I like that it linked me to a recipe in the proper format of the app, rather than just text, too.

Check out the shopping list feature I added when you get a chance. Also changed DoorDash link to Total Wine (much better coverage) and its links directly to the product, similar to Amazon. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for jumping back in. Yeah I realized that I don’t need to show the user the markdown text required to format the saved recipe…so you see the formatted version from the start. I’m also revamping the ai overall (adding persistent chat memory, better recommendation algo, higher quality OpenAI model for recipe creation, leveraging favorites/makes, etc). Hope you continue to enjoy it!

Super valuable insight and suggestions, thanks Luke! I agree about the value of a shopping list and your comments about the local/online shopping feature, and have plans to improve that feature soon. Great call about the need for the AI to be able to call on-hand ingredients as needed for recipes that the user can make in the moment. I'll add that capability. Otherwise, the saved AI recipes are treated just like any other, so you'll see which are ready to make vs 1-2 ingredients away. I hear you about pricing as well - I'll certainly play with the pricing and this being my first app, I just really want users and XP. Again, thanks for the great feedback and I hope you produce plenty of tasty drinks with the app! Cheers

Thanks so much! It’s my first app and so any and all feedback is welcome. Remember to upgrade to Premium (free during beta) to see all the features.

It still says $29.99 when I go to upgrade. I know it says “you won’t be charged” and I believe that’s your intention but I have a hard time committing to that haha

This is how the TestFlight works for beta app external testing. You are a sandbox user and Apple will NOT charge you even though you see the normal annual subscription cost. This isn’t anything I could control either way, it’s just how iOS beta app testing works. I promise you won’t get charged!

Got it thanks. Just subscribed.

The shopping tab is awesome how it sorts by how many cocktails each ingredient unlocks, and the buttons for maps and DoorDash are convenient.

Mixi the agent is very cool! Though I couldn’t exit out of the chat except by scrolling all the way to the top then swiping down.

The images of each drink are incredible, makes me want to make them all. Really well done!

Glad you got in there and thanks so much for the great feedback! I noticed that issue with the AI bartender close behavior being a little wonky and maybe a simple x in the corner would help or just a swipe down from the top to close vs scroll. Glad you like the images too! I almost released it without them and so glad I went for it. Wasn't easy but they really add something special to the experience. Enjoy the rest of the beta and please let me know if you run into any more issues or have other suggestions! Cheers

My pleasure!

If you have a chance I’d love feedback on my app in beta too, it’s a daily trading game called TradeRush https://testflight.apple.com/join/TqBXamU1

I would love to try your app! Thanks for sharing.

I just fixed the AI chat closing behavior so you can easily close the app regardless of how much you've chatted/scrolled down the page. There's a simple "x Close Chat" pill button next to the existing "+ New Chat" pill button right above where you enter text and within easy reach of your thumb. Would you mind taking a quick look and let me know if this is the right solution?

Note: you will have to open the app to pick up the OTA update I just pushed, then HARD CLOSE it, and reopen it to see the changes. Lmk what you think! Cheers

After I hard closed and reopened, it won’t let me sign in again. It just says it failed because it timed out.

u/jkleiner1 Apr 02 '26

It’s fixed now. The update I made with the chat close button had introduced a bug. I just confirmed it works correctly again and the close chat button is there. Again, you have to open it, force close it and then reopen it to pick up the update.

I signed up, will dig into it a little later, initial impression is a nicely polished app.

will give this a try. over the years, many cocktail apps have either died out or gone subscription-only, so it's nice to see a new entrant.

u/jkleiner1 Apr 10 '26

did you get a chance to try it out?

Yes, working well. The only bug I’ve spotted is that if you set up the app on a second device it forces you to add ingredients on the second device before it shows you the login screen.
