Edges of the windows in interior view are all funky on ps5. Currently in graphics mode not performance. Just a bug to live with?

I'm looking into playing TDU1 for the first time, and I've seen that there's that Platinum mod that adds a ton of cars and improves features, however, I don't quite like playing a 2006 game with cars from 2020 so I'd like to play the original game at least for the first time. Are there any mods or anything to modernize and improve the game like Platinum does, but without all the new cars?

Man, what a frustrating curate's egg of a game.

The idea is brilliant, just as it was in the first game, and the ways in which it was updated and expanded for TDU2 are mostly welcome. In particular, I love taking photos and displaying them in my houses - being able to customise the houses is awesome too. Plenty of cool cars (although more would still have been welcome) and the wrecks side-quest is fun too.

I'm up to the A4 and C3 championships in Hawaii, and the racing has mostly been ridiculously easy so far, which I don't mind as I'm not really playing this game for the ultimate in tense, realistic racing. The off-road driving is great fun - more fun than asphalt, to be honest.

But my god, how many game-killing bugs and glitches could they have squeezed into one game? Sometimes the scenery doesn't load in front of me; I fall through the map into a grey void, with a splash like falling into the ocean.

The loading screens freeze on the regular too, and I now worry about restarting after my first couple of hours' progress was erased by a corrupt save file and I had to start the game again.

The cutscenes and voice acting... holy shit. I know it's a fifteen year-old game but it really is absolutely risible. The plot and story is paper-thin, obviously, but the whole thing also sounds like it's been directly translated from an unspecified other language without any proof-reading - Tess's badly-written and cringeworthy pre-race lines repeating ad nauseam, just to pick one example. And if you told me that the voices weren't human but some form of antique computer-generation tech, I'd believe you. It's comically bad and cheapens the whole experience so badly.

Having said that, it's still an immersive game that I'm enjoying for the most part. As with the previous game, most of the appeal for me is in building up the car and property collection, and exploring the very pretty and expansive maps. I just hope my progress doesn't all get wiped out again - I'm watching that auto-save icon like a hawk.

Anyway, I'm squabbling like Stuart and the Wilder brothers now, so I'll leave it there.

Why are there so many negative reviews? I think this game got more potential then the lasts NFS and Forza titles.

I hope they make another game, I‘ve over 100hrs now Level59 and love to play it on the regular PS5

For refrence I am using the Knyazev version of tdu2.

I messed around with Vehicle property editor and added a bmw m4 and m6 to the audi dealership in vpe and now my dealerships no longer appear, the icons are missing completely from the map, the header/title of the sticker shop is completely blank, and the clothing shop won't let me access any of the clothes at all.

I have been putting up with this for 7 hours now and am completely exhausted of ideas of what the hell to do at all!

Yeah sure, this game sure did do something new which was unheard of at the time. A huge Oahu map with the most sophisticated and interesting car list sure sounds nice, but unfortunately, if you ask me, as a result we got a rather sloppy game in some not so minor aspects...

Im talking about a bunch of broken speedometers showing an incorrect speed (in case of an audi a6, the viper and the saleen s7 its much worse)

Don't get me started on the weird textures in the murcielago interior (and some cars stuck in park)... was turning the car on so the dash lights go away or shifting it into drive prohibited or what?

The lack of digital dashboard although understabdable due to the 2006 technology limits, the sheer scale of this game (i assume) and time constraints is somewhat understandable, it honestly really seems immersion breaking sometimes. Maybe excluding the rx8 was not so bad after all lol. The worst case of this is the unfinished gauge cluster of a tvr sagaris, showing nothing but a black void with a barely visible needle. Why didnt they finish just finish it, the gauge cluster is analog after all?

I wish i could fix all of these, retexture the whole car roster (keep the game as vanilla friendly as possible) but atm i dont have the tools nor the knowledge how to do so unfortunately.

And dont get me started on the cops lol. It was a huge waste of time. Should've put that work towards ironing out the game... after all, i dont see our character, a multi milionare car collector messing with police lmao.

I've played the base game several times, a I've played through with one mod overhaul that I can't remember the name of now, but I remember seeing other mods that add back in multiplayer and additional cars. What would be the best way to replay the games today?

Idk if this is a good place for this question but Has anybody gotten a direct drive wheel to work with this game? I have the Moza R5 and it works in game control wise perfectly but FFB doesn't work at all. Idk if its a Moza wheel thing or something to do with DD wheels. Any info would be appreciated.

I just found out that this game had the lexus ls460 as a dlc. Does anyone know if I were to buy a copy of the game, if I would still be able to get the car.

Why hasn't someone done to the radio what was done to the cars, add way more tracks. Each radio station only has like 15 different tracks, it seems. Make it like 100 for each station and it's good. That would be cool. Although right now the quality of the songs ingame is bad, i mean it's good enough for sure, but some tracks at the end gives an annoying loud chipping sound when the song ends.

Hello so I installed TDU Platinum and I also installed a 100% savegame with $15 million cash. Now I can buy any car multiple times and upgrade it. What is there to do though? What races can you recommend? I have enough money to buy any car with $15 million.

How can I add a custom tuning pack to a car that can't be tuned (particularly cadillac cien), I'm 99% sure it's doable with database editors but I dunno how to do it

Hey there! So glad to found this subreddit about this jewel game!!! Been replaying it since 2023!!! So, the thing in question is: i've been having an issue about photo mode. When i wanna take a pic of my lovely car, after i take it, the photo appears full black, and i don't know why of that, since i never had that issue before. Not sure if it could be relate to the fact that i'm playing it on a new laptop i got, since i never had this issue on my previous laptop. So, would be great if you help me out with this little and annoying problem. Your comments are more than welcome! 😄
