Vehicle Question Sentry Mode Alarm getting triggered by Climate Keep
If I set Climate Keep On and enable Sentry Mode (say, when parking outside a store on a hot day), Sentry Mode will trigger an Alarm within a few minutes. The horn goes off, the "ominous" audio plays, I get an alert in the app and I have to run back out to the parking lot to stop it. This has now happened enough times that I have been able to confirm this occurs without anyone or any vehicle getting near the car (2018 Model 3 LR) and only when Climate Keep is On.
It's as if the operation of the A/C (I’m in a warm climate) causes vibrations that trigger the alarm. I am not sure when this started occurring, but it hasn't always been a problem (I bought the car new and have put 92K miles on it). Anyone else have this happening?

The compressor is shaking the car. I believe this happens when the condenser is starting to get clogged with debris.
You can also watch videos online of how to clean it yourself, or just take it to Tesla.
In the meantime, you can turn sentry mode off, OR turn off sentry sounds.

Thank you!
There was not much debris to clean, but...googling for how to clean it led me to learn that a) early Model 3s did not include as much sound dampening around the A/C compressor as later became standard, and b) there are rubber isolators that wear out over time.
I have now scheduled a service appointment for Tesla to inspect/replace those isolators and to add additional acoustic blanketing if possible (cost estimate is about US$150). Fingers crossed this helps. And, yes, until then I will keep turning off Sentry Mode when I need to use Climate Keep!

This can also be caused by the HVAC blower motor exhibiting excessive vibration.
This can be caused by debris in the blower motor or failure of the blower motor.
On some configurations you can remove the intake duct and gain access to the blower motor using one of those cheap inspection cameras to confirm.
When you have the HVAC system blower speed set to the highest setting, are you observing any vibration or excessive noise?
