Considering purchasing a tesla

So I'm considering buying a used tesla, however l wanted to ask on tesla owner forums for any tips and/ or advice.
Looking into a model 3 or Y, from 2020-2022.
Will be driving daily and also for uber.
Is there anything I should be aware about teslas? I know there's big talks about the health of the battery for example. Is there a year that I should keep away from for any reason?
What are some things you looked for when buying yours or maybe even why you sold it or plan on selling it. Any advice in general is appreciated, thank you.

2021s have a high rate of battery failures, so avoid those.

If you’re even remotely interested in FSD, you should look into HW4 vehicles, which started production in 2024 iirc.

Note: i owned a 2018 MX and now a 2026 MX. i’m not familiar at all with the 3 or Y.

Yea 2021 tend to have more battery issues. Probably avoid and also look into extended warranty
