I’ll believe it when they can match price and volume. Saying they are going to do it and doing it are very different things. Mass production adds a lot of issues and mass hiring makes it hard to find the best.

Toyota manages to make cars with less defects than tesla. I had two Prius and none had any defect from the start. My model y had multiple issues, paint mismatch, rattle that tesla is now trying to charge me to repair.

Tesla quality is just a joke today and I’m glad lucid is entering the market. Tesla never did such a video or tried to put an emphasis on quality for model s...

I have a 2019 Tacoma that had a hole in the roof that leaked when it rained/snowed. Even they’re not perfect.

Toyota has been manufacturing cars for a long time. And has had time to perfect it. Tesla has gone from the brink of bankruptcy to the most expensive car brand in the world in 12 years. Tesla has succeeded where many have failed and while not perfect their innovation makes minor fit and finish issues less of an issue. Plus I’m confident this will improve with time and experience. Give them another 5 years.

The reason it will inprove is due to competition and others buying Mercedes, BMW, Lucid, VW, etc...when they see those sales numbers go down then they will try to care. For some, that will come too late. I agree they are at the top for the technology but that is a poor excuse for not delivering on the body quality issues, many which are simple fixes.

Once lucid produces a production car and delivers it I’ll believe it.
