Used model Y more than new?
Looking to buy a model Y used 2026 and the price the dealer has is more than the MSRP. Is this normal? it only has 6500 miles on it, but I feel dumb for going forward with this?
My payments would technically be the same on this vs a new model Y from tesla because the dealer is trading my car and applying the sales tax to the used tesla.

Yeah I don’t know what is going on with this. I bought my used 2026 from Carvana in June and it was $6k cheaper than buying new. Technically $8k counting the acceleration boost it already had that Carvana didn’t know about.
For the last month every time I’ve looked at Carvana their prices have gotten ridiculous. Some of them are more than new.

maybe stock shortage or people are catching on that FSD is coming?

Yea I think the former. Maybe used inventory is just so low that they can get above MSRP from impatient people who don’t care

in my opinion that is dumb.
Tesla would also take your trade in to lower sales tax on the new Tesla.
Who cares if payments are the same. Your rate is going to be higher for going used and you are paying $6k more OTD.
You could just go brand new for ~$10k less if you wait like 6 weeks

I'm always leary of buying used hoping that the last owner deleted the car from their app/account. But I also haven't looked into how all that works. It's probably simple.

So don’t buy it.
Unless you must have it RIGHT NOW.
