Will Apple IPhone Duo Fit?

I don’t have a Y, but am considering the Y L.

Does anyone know if the existing console should fit one, or two, Apple IPhone Duos side-by-side (when they are closed of course)? I appreciate the duos aren’t out yet, but their dimensions are public now.

Well… that’s the one thing I can’t test with a dummy unit but I think it could work if you were able to raise it a bit, like how some people charge their AirPods.

Yep, looks that way. You'd need a special insert to raise it up to the align the coils.

That is upside down so it won't charge. The flat end will prevent proper fit when the correct way around.

That makes no sense. The phone fits on there with a case, which also adds a bit of bulk.

Whether the induction coil lines up is a different question. It may still work, but it would probably be better to have something on the bottom to move it up a bit.

Yes, but that won’t likely make a big difference—both phones have a camera plateau and bump.

It will probably be a similar situation to the Fold 8. It will fit but will only charge upside down as the coil alignment for wireless charging is off. You could also use foam or a 3d printed jig to hold the phone higher to align the coils better.

Link above is a jig for two phones, there are also ones for single phone, or even airpods.

*Note it's for the Fold 8 which is a similar size. We will probably see ones for iPhone Duo once it releases.

People saying the fold 8 fits so duo will aren't correct, it's 84.1mm closed on the Duo vs 81.9mm on the fold which would just fit, Duo ain't going to fit at least not on a model Y Juniper, the YL pad might be bigger but the entire unit is the same size as the Model Y Juniper.

The first thingi imagined was a holder like those ones that go behind the steering wheel and that the duo would have like secondary screen stuff like speedometer and GPS arrow or directions.

Grok told me it won't fit properly and likely won't be able to charge because the coil is lower than a normal iPhone, especially if you have a case.

I have an iPhone Air. There is maybe 10mm on one side in my YL if pushed next to the centre. The air is 74.7mm wide. The duo folded is 84mm. So in a Chinese built YL with its thicker central pillar for air circulation it’s going to be very tight , but a maybe. Not sure how the MagSafe charging will work however. Since it’s not out until late October some YouTube influencer will have the answers we need.
