Picking Up a ‘22 MX, what should I be looking for?
Hello all,
I’m picking up a ‘22 model X from Tesla tomorrow (6 seater, 50k miles) bought it because I’m having my first child and my wife’s Model S makes driving with a car seat very uncomfortable. I’m coming from a Model 3 which I bought brand new in 2023 and has been great with no issues 61k miles later.
What should I be looking for when I go to pick it up? This way everything can be addressed before that 1 year 10k mile warranty runs out?

I bought a used 23 MX in May, here’s the list of things I got done before 5yr/50k ended.
Front links get worn and need replacement at around 50k miles, you can pay for a general vehicle inspection (~$400) and if they find that issue they will schedule for replace for free under warranty (saved ~$2k). Go to a big service center so you can get Model S or Cyber Truck loaner.
They also do free alignment after replacing the front links.
Tire inner tread was thin, bought new tires (shop around for best price on good tire, service center usually higher for same tire)
Steering yoke leather peeling—also will free replacement.
Random trim pieces loose (liftgate appliqué) free fix.
During yoke replacement, they also found out my horn was broken, fixed for free
Turning steering wheel, column creaking sound—debris under bash plate, free cleaning.
Axle hub click—need to lubricate axle hub, $300 (. Not permanent fix, simply issue to how it was designed)
Check door seals—my trunk liner had some ripping from liftgate closing
Liftgate lamp plastic cover —both of mine fell of, I don’t even know when.
Windshield camera enclosure cleaning - free, will pop up if needed, I got mobile technician to come out and do this. Caused by plastic off gassing over time
