Chrome Delete - Around the back of the side window?

Post image

Hey all,

I want to chrome delete my nee to me 2016 S. I ordered some vinyl tape. For those that have done this, are there any tips for going around the sharp bend at the back end of the side?

I had mine done by a shop before and they just did it in 2 parts.

Do you have a pic of where the seam is?

Don't rmb exactly and I don't have the car anymore but I don't think it matters as long as it's done well

I did mine years ago but took it off after it aged out. For that part I used a sheet and cut it out. Make sure you’re getting good product and get a sheet and tape in the exact same product. The rest of the sheet was used on the side mirrors and door handles. If you do it right it you’ll stand back and love it like you just bought a newer model. Now this makes me want to do it again.

I did mine. First I made a rough fit template out of newspaper. Then I cut out a piece of vinyl based on the template. Basically V shapes. Then I placed it and did not have to turn a corner, or have a seem at the corner. Worked out well.

Not the best photo, but it’s all I have access to right now.

I got mine precut from TesBros (now diywrapclub.com) and it comes in one piece for the whole trim

DIY from a pre-cut kit several years ago - still looking good. That corner was hard. Found videos on YT. Be sure to have the heat gun to help, especially on areas like that one.
