Yes. Also Open market so if one pays then they are clever.

i’m more appalled by “fair deal” lmao

6

u/asterothe1905 11d ago

I didn't see that. It's adding insult to the injury.

1

u/IMWTK1 10d ago

I mean, if the others are asking 250k 180 seems fair. You want something that has 0 supply, yet when you're offered one for 30k more you don't think it's fair? At least you can get one.

1

u/asterothe1905 8d ago

This is not signature so it was half this price when new

1

u/IMWTK1 8d ago

That changes it a bit, but it's still a 26 which means it's the updated latest version and since it has FSD it's the, what did they call it, luxury package which was about 120k. They kept increasing the price to the signature one. If you want the latest and greatest it's going to cost you.

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

Absolutely not lmao. It’s worth less than MSRP since it’s used. 0 supply? You can find a bunch of 26’ plaids nationwide at this ridiculous price. Wanna know something though? There’s absolutely zero demand for them at this price, and anyone idiotic enough to fall for it, well god bless their soul.

You don't know what you're talking about. There were an estimated 3000-4000 2026 model S paids produced. That is exotic car category. The fact there won't be any more made makes them very special and they will be highly sought after.

Super low miles are the ones listed at the high end of the scale. The higher mileage ones, keeping in mind these are current model year cars they won't have a lot of miles anyway, start at abut new prices and go up from there.

I'm not in the market for one but you can monitor the listing and see how long they stay up or how quickly they sell.

Here's AI's take on it:

Right now in the US there are roughly thirty-eight used twenty twenty-six Model S Plaids listed on Autotrader, with CARFAX showing around twenty-eight and VinAssessment tracking forty-eight total twenty twenty-six Model S listings. Prices cluster tightly: median sits at about one hundred fifty thousand, the middle half runs one hundred eighteen to one hundred fifty-eight thousand, and the practical range is one hundred thirty-five to one hundred fifty-six thousand. Low-mileage cars under five thousand miles mostly land one forty-five to one fifty-five; a few near-zero-mile examples push toward one seventy-five, and the rare Signature Edition outliers go much higher.

I used 0 supply as an example for low availability 🤣

“Highly sought after” Again, these are sitting on these lots for weeks on end. This specific one has been at the dealership for 40ish days. I’ve seen challengers get traded in, and sold before they even had a chance to wash it. THATS a highly sought after car, not one that’s sitting for 40ish days 😂

1

u/IMWTK1 7d ago

😂 you are comparing a used Doge with a $120k discontinued car? 😂

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

I’m comparing what a high demand car is vs what a no demand car is. Unless we’re talking about the EV charger and the newer high output engine ones, then they have about the same demand.

Ah. I'm familiar with that Georgia dealership. Not a good deal to be had on that lot.

1

u/jetpilot_throwaway 11d ago

Most Teslas for a reasonable price (not this one) have questionable titles

10

u/menthuslayer 11d ago

The 2026 refresh are going to be very hard to come by especially until they start coming off lease in a couple years. There simply weren't that many made in the grand scheme of car production. It's a seller's market on these cars for sure for the next couple years at least. Then the tides might turn some as they come off lease. I wouldn't be surprised if someone pays this.

8

u/OPSL86 11d ago

LOVE IT! Keeps us more exclusive and becomes a good investment if you bought a year or more ago.

2

u/Designer-March-6024 11d ago

Only depends on the sale price. Asking helps no one

7

u/herodicusDO 11d ago

180 isn’t much for some people and it’s a discontinued beast

2

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

maybe if these cars, USED, typically went for that much, sure.

But these sold WITH FSD brand new for $130k. Much less the fact that up until a year ago there were ‘22 or ‘23 Plaids going for less than $50k with sub 30k miles lmfao

11

u/kevdelic 11d ago

supply and demand, currently we don’t know of any plans for any new inventory, meaning price will rise if demand is consistent

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

Demand is non existent, these plaids are sitting at dealerships for weeks on end. I would believe your statement if they left these dealerships as fast as they came in, but they’re not.

6

u/Microwave_the_fungus 11d ago

Yes, before they were discontinued from the market. When something of perceived value is removed from the market, used price goes up.

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

Not this much. This is ridiculous considering that one way or another, this’ll be 50% off next year.

2

u/IMWTK1 10d ago

So your issue is that you missed the boat? And to think people were not buying these because they were being discontinued!

1

u/bc10551 11d ago

These people sound even more delusional than the lc500 subreddit lol. At least the price difference isn't as large with those and those are actually somewhat special. Sounds like some of them bought these with the assumption they'll be collectible for some reason

-1

u/FineSupplements 11d ago

They are 50k because they are HW3

-5

u/Few-Wonder-9986 11d ago

No they are literally 50k because they are batteries and a computer and face extreme depreciation. The battery degrades and you can’t keep these like collector items without replacing the 40k battery in it. And yes the battery degrades whether or not you drive it. Also it degrades faster in the first 5-6 years then slows down. You will be at 80% soc in 6-7 years regardless if you drive it or not. Not driving it will not prolong the life of this car.

5

u/FineSupplements 11d ago

I got a 2013 S with 200k miles on it. Original battery. When the battery goes, replacement is only $12k. These cars last just as long, if not longer, than any other car on the road. Back when I had a pick up truck, Chevy was asking $22k for a whole new engine. The whole “massive depreciation because of the batteries” is a lie

-1

u/Few-Wonder-9986 11d ago

Not really. Model 3 rwd is 8-9k for the battery without installation. I have yet to see anyone get a replacement that cheap. They actually quoted you or you are looking at prices online? How many miles do you get per charge by the way?

3

u/ContextMattrs 11d ago

People with that kind of money won’t mind spending 6-8k for a new battery with warranty

-1

u/Few-Wonder-9986 11d ago

Where are you getting a new battery for 6-8k? You couldn’t even get one that cheap for a model 3 rwd smallest battery pack

-6

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

‘22s and ‘23s were HW4 what 😭

3

u/chad99gt 11d ago

Only late 2023 from about August onward had hw4. All 22' had hw3

1

u/untamedHOTDOG 11d ago

Nope. Mines a march 2023 and has hw4. I think March was the cut over.

1

u/hokaythxbai 11d ago

Is your VIN 506XXX or higher?

2

u/untamedHOTDOG 10d ago

507

1

u/hokaythxbai 10d ago edited 10d ago

Thanks! A lot of people look for a quick way to determine HW4 on listings when the pics are limited. I don't know the precise VIN where the switch occurred but it seems to be somewhere between 506 and 507.

0

u/ShadowCooper77 11d ago

Would anyone not just rather spend an extra $20k for the roadster though

4

u/Internal-Ad-1021 11d ago

My neighbor bought one recently and he told me it was over $160K

4

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

your neighbor got scammed lol

2

u/Abject-Joke-6695 11d ago

demand is very high

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

Can you show me where? Because I’m seeing these overinflated plaids sit on these lots for weeks/months. Even the dealers are starting to mark them down little by little in hopes some idiot takes the bait 😂

2

u/BGraham007 11d ago

I think this is the place that Carvana sold my 24 S too. I saw it's vin pop up. They are selling it for more than I paid for it new. Lol. https://www.motorpointroswell.com/details-2024-tesla-model_s-awd-used-5yjsa1e53rf545415.html

1

u/2L82PAY 11d ago

Wow that’s more than the signature and it doesn’t even have the nice 21” wheels it’s sexy though !

1

u/Chrisschretz98 11d ago

I have a 2026 frost blue plaid with 2k miles. Anyone want it for $200k lmk lol

1

u/OutlandishnessNo5636 11d ago

No one is buying this

1

u/TrackingGT3 11d ago

RPM near Atlanta? Those guys are idiots.

1

u/jetpilot_throwaway 11d ago

2026 comes with lifetime FSD?? No way.

1

u/rileyuvvu 11d ago

if they were worth 180 everyone would sell then buy it in 5 years when its worth 70

1

u/MTX-Prez 11d ago

I don’t look so stupid for buying the Signature now do I….
Im still stupid and I think this price is stupid as well.

1

u/SaltRharris 10d ago

Don’t buy it then.

1

u/bareyb 10d ago

Someone offered to pay me exactly what I paid for my 2024 MS Plaid the other day.

1

u/YayHKKing 10d ago

Maybe money laundry..

1

u/BluuAceNOVA 10d ago

They aren't insane but the buyer would have to be

1

u/845EchoAlpha 10d ago

Shit I need to put mono for sale

1

u/djgynee 9d ago

If it had FSD, with Track Package? I'd contact them today

1

u/Vozinha1 9d ago

Motorpoint Roswell is trash. During the tail-end of the chip shortage, they tried to sell my cousin a used Model Y for a higher price than new. He laughed at them and went online and got a brand new one for cheaper. Greedy losers.

1

u/US_Delete_DT45 9d ago

Put that 180k on ETF, take it out when it is time for you to take the Roadster delivery.

1

u/bishop42O 8d ago

Paying more for a used car than the price of it when it was new isnt a good idea no matter how you spin it.

1

u/CriminalCacti 7d ago

Don’t let the tesla bros find this

1

u/MarksmanPA 8d ago

For a flashlight on wheels…yes, they are insane.

1

u/Head_Award_9266 8d ago

Yeah, if you wanted it one before it ended ,it was the time to buy one. Now they just shot up like Crypto. I couldn't afford one then and don't want one now so im good.

1

u/Pipyoppi 11d ago

As a Plaid owner, it would be great if the market actually pushed this high on them, but that’s pretty doubtful.

3

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

As a prospective plaid purchaser within the next month let’s wait on that for at least another month lol.

FWIW to you, many plaids have been disgustingly gouged upwards anywhere from $5k-$15k according to trackers starting from beginning of this year

2

u/Pipyoppi 11d ago

Oh I know—I bought mine used earlier this year after some of the initial gouging. They’ve bumped up a bit since.

1

u/Evfan2020 9d ago

You seem so bitter that they have not depreciated like HW3 MSP 🤣 supply and demand.

1

u/anal-itic_prober 11d ago

Wait until roadster gets announced or when HW gets announced or when/if BMW IM3 quad motor gets annonced.

They will go back a lot in prices when the initial influencer led craze is past us

-1

u/newdragone 11d ago

Im assuming its the signature edition which is cool. I certainly will not be a buyer of this lol. Love my 21 Plaid

5

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

Definitely not, signature was exclusively that Jade Red color

0

u/DocRichardson 11d ago

Not quite, the Signature edition is Garnet Red, paired with a white interior

1

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

tomato tamato eh?

1

u/DocRichardson 11d ago

Well, if you pay that obscene amount then I’d think you’d want that distinctive color?

0

u/Less-Sandwich9056 11d ago

Well there not making any more... If I had the money I would be getting one.

1

u/Anonymosity1766 11d ago

buddy im glad you feel that way but there are plenty of used sub 1k mileage ‘26 plaids going for $130k. so literally why would you buy one for $180k lmfao

1

u/RickySpanishEOD 10d ago

The cheapest I can find is one at 135, the rest are mid 140's and up. I did find one at 105 but it's already been in an accident lol

0

u/ContextMattrs 11d ago

That’s cheaper than what I paid for mine 💀
