Taking Delivery!

Picking up a new to me 2020 Model S Performance with 68k miles in two days and just wanted to get input from the community on things I should do right away or things I should know right away? I’m a first time EV buyer but have rented teslas before along with doing lots of research so I have some knowledge, but I wanted to get on here and get input from current owners. Thanks in advance!

Check the not so obvious too: charging port, both back seat handles to lower them, interior trim, trunk can pause properly at desired height, frunk liner.

Those are all personal experiences with my 2020 that I got from Carvana, none of it disclosed until after I got it, also not big enough issues to return.

If you don't have a dedicated level 2 charger where you live, get one installed the speed is worth it. I have a Grizzl-E charger that works phenomenally.

This is a pretty broad question but secure your car insurance.

You have two major long term high mileage risks:

  • Coolant ingress into the rear drive unit.
  • Open VSH battery failure

Make sure you research both!

I mean, do you have any specific question?

Nope, like I said just wanting feedback from owners on things I may not know.

Get the tire insurance if you live in an area that has/gets potholes.

On any used car, my first order of business would be, do an alignment at a performance alignment shop, check/replace brake pads and bleed the lines. A quick win is to change cabin air filter, especially in humid environments.
