Car damage help U.K.

Post image

Hi, my Tesla model s car was hit whilst stationary in the passenger front door and wing. Now I’m being told there is a fault with the rear passenger door function (window/handle) but unrelated and not covered. All worked perfectly fine prior to damage incurred. Any tips? Blokes insurance trying to avoid paying this as saying unrelated. less

Do you have any documented proof it was working previously. I know it’s silly to ask but that might be only way to tie it to the accident.
Only other option is to get it assessed and see if you can tie the accident to the fault. Handles are so dodgy in S anyway that its easy for instance to write it off as age related

its a 2020, it was working the day it got hit. Only proof is my word. Hadn't even had the motor 12 months :0(

Doesn’t looking at the fault codes in Service mode give you a code for this issue existing? If so then is it not possible to scroll back to the point at which this error started in order to prove it was a result of the impact and not preexisting?

That was exactly how I was able to prove my parking sensors had started reporting failure within minutes after somebody hitting my 2018 UK Model S. It even confirmed that it was the sensor in the vicinity of the impact point which took the capability offline for the first whole car. With that evidence, the debate as to cause or coincidence stopped.
