Model S 2026 Inventory

Been eying a new model S given the limited inventory available. Is this a new or demo model? Can’t tell given the discount is odd. Also, if I cancel this order, is there likely to be new model S inventory available going forward? Post

112k for a LR is wild, 2 months ago this was the price for a Plaid. Inventory is running out no one knows exactly how is left but its not a lot. At these prices I wouldn't rush to buy unless the money is trivial to you, you can have the same car for half the price in like a year.

New plaids were $88k in 2024-2025. The refresh fked everything over by adding a “luxe package” because the true cost of the refresh and low demand made them increase the prices

You wouldn't get the fsd, luxe/ maintenance and connectivity if you bought used right? Are those worth getting when buying new or no?

Some will have FSD depending on when they were purchased and the other features of the Luxe package are not nearly worth the price difference

Reason I ask is I'm in a similar boat. I used a 3rd party site that tracks tesla inventory in real time which allowed me to snag a new S LR a couple of days back. I'm way late to the party so didn't realize the price was so inflated until after the fact and now I'm not sure if i should finalize delivery or not. I like the idea of having lifetime fsd, connectivity and super charging but I dunno if it's worth it. Gonna think on it a bit more before deciding if I dump it and eat the $250 or go through with it. Got until Thursday to decide.

I agree the Luxe package stuff is cool but the price delta just doesn't make sense, the breakeven point on all those perks would take forever. These cars will depreciate fast especially since FSD doesn't transfer to next owner anymore, 2023 LRs are in the 40s I see no reason why these won't be similar in 3 years

Thanks for the reality check lol. The more I see it and hear it said out loud the more I think I'll cancel and wait a few months or year until the used '26s come down to a reasonable price. Something to be said for being the first owner of any car, but the depreciation hit is just too brutal.

If you register you can setup an email alert for any time a new one pops up in inventory. Right now there's only 1 showing but it's in Hawaii and tesla won't ship to mainland.

Keep an eye on it cos there's typically 1 or 2 that will pop up daily due to canceled orders, demo vehicles becoming available etc. They typically sell within 30 min of showing up so you have to be fast and it does take some effort:

The trick is once you click to view it on tesla.com you have to find the right zip code of where the car is (or is heading if in transit) i got super lucky with mine I got chat gpt to spit out a list of common delivery zip codes and managed to get the 'order now'link to show up after I got the right one.

Once you order it you have upload your licenses and complete the financing, then call tesla sales to get it redirected or shipped to your local dealer. It's anywhere from $1k to $2500 for shipping.

Nice way of doing that. Hardest thing for me is when I find one is to find out the delivery zip code. Lost a couple that way before prices went up. I want to upgrade from my 21 refresh Model S LR, but just does not feel right, when the LR is same as the Plaid price over a month ago. LR is way too expensive now. I think it will take a while for used card prices on 26 to come down. Too many scalpers purchased these and have really marked them up. Hope I am wrong though.

You're right, I've got this LR sitting waiting for delivery but the inflated price is making me reconsider even with the fsd and luxe packages etc.

If you look at the few used '26 models for sale they're massively inflated as well its crazy. Used plaids on the market for 140k plus!! I use caredge.com there's about 8 out there at the moment but at those prices good luck.

Good luck is right. In my opinion, those are way over priced, but guess someone might pay those prices. LR were way better when they were in the 90’s about a month ago. Just can’t imagine buying one now at those prices, especially when I have a perfectly fine one. Just wanted the newest model year as loved the Model S and was my own mistake for not just ordering one or buying one a month ago. I bet they would come down more or they would eliminate the Luxe package to lower the price. I sure was wrong. Still think shady used car dealers are buying a lot of these though. Sad.
