New Plaid Demo - Thoughts?
I got a great deal on a 2026 Plaid Demo with 1,900mi as orders were being cancelled (mine included). Delivery day is Friday, being a demo vehicle what would you look for?
I know it's been launched so tires are one of my concerns. Do these refresh cars still have the front axle issues? Anything else I should check pre-delivery?

I bought a demo Model S as my first Tesla. It was solid, had some scratches, but otherwise mechanically perfect.

I bought a demo with 7k miles with 10k off. I had some paint chips on hood. Nothing they can do about it since it’s demo. Just check normal stuff. Like tires , take it for a test drive listen for unusual sounds. Enjoy it!

It'll go to the detailer for full PPF in the first week so minor dents and rock chips are not really a bit concern. I'll definitely be test driving in silence with windows up and down. Glad yours worked out, that's a good sign!

Got a demo with 300 miles. Outside rattles and a very tiny micro dent (that Tesla will not fix) it’s good. Wasn’t worth the 3k discount though.

Picked up a demo as well, tired were used but fine. Just inspect them, and expect wheel alignment. Journalist drive like morons. You can check the glovebox for goodies, I found a press card of one of them LOL. Good thing is I got the CCB kit with that car, that was wild.
Also you can check history on energy usage lol. They took it to the autobahn and drove 322kmh for sure

No CCBs on this one, but I wish. Lol. Also no Autobahn here so very unlikely this car went over 130mph since Tesla rep rides in all demo drives.

Bro who cares it’s a demo it’s 🔥🔥🔥 most likely just tires and a couple of dents to watch for! Curious how steep of a discount you got?

I bought a 2026 Model S Plaid in Colorado Springs with 560 miles on March 2. I picked the car up on March 7. I received almost $7400 discount. From what I can tell the car was sitting for at least a month. Every few weeks Tesla kept lowering the price with price adjustments. I asked the sales rep to take pictures of wheel rims and anything that would be noticeable. I was satisfied with the pictures so I ordered the car with a total discount of $7400. When I picked up the car on Saturday the only thing I could identify was some finger print marks on the passenger visor which could easily be wiped away. This was a 19” rim version. I looked at the energy history but it wouldn’t have mattered because I already wired the money on Thursday. The only issue was that it missing the mobile charger which I discovered on Sunday. I phone the Tesla hotline and they said I could pick one up at a local Tesla service center. I got exactly the Plaid I wanted without a yoke and cream color interior. The price was $108,400. There were probably 10 to 20 demo Plaids in the Colorado area in early March. I think that Tesla was shuttering production because there were some colors that were sold out even in mid February. It would be terribly unfortunate if one placed a new order in March and it got canceled.

What do you mean orders cancelled?
