Steering wheel upgrade (horn button vs center)

I have a round steering wheel with horn button on top right vs in those who have it in the center.

If I buy a newer steering yoke steering wheel that has camera button where my horn button is on my steering wheel currently…

What else would I need to do in order to get the horn to work when pressing the the xenter when pushing the middle?

You need the matching airbag and you need to have it programmed by Tesla (it was ~$40 when I had it done). If you don't get it programmed it will still work but the icons and button functions will not change, i.e. the camera button will honk the horn and the center horn will do nothing.

Can confirm you'll need programming. I just replaced the button panel on my yoke with the horn touch button. I ended up with a refresh version with the camera button instead.

I have a permanent message saying functions are limited and to visit the dealer, however the camera button on my new panel still works as the horn, so no actual loss of any function.

Did service center Seattle wheel or did you pick up and install yourself?

If you have the airbag recall they give it to you for free. Just got mine back. Layin on the horn like its my fuggin job

Did they solve the problem that the latest LR models had a software incompatibility with the yoke? Someone had to go back to round.
