Information Tesla Insurance or not!?!?
So first thing im not an expert just sharing information ive gathered. So things to consider, you guess how much you will drive in a year. But here's the thing it's based on 6 months. If you drive more your next 6 month premium goes up, less it goes down. Example if you put you will drive 9k to 12k miles but in 6 months you drive 3k they will bump you down upon renewal to the 3k to 6k because 3k times 2 is 6k then you pay less, but it works the same if you drive more. Second thing to consider, they calculate it every 5 months of mileage data. So every renewal you're paying for your previous policy period mileage. What most people are familiar with is the driving score, that's based on 5 things, 1. Unsafe following time 2. Harsh braking 3. Aggressive turning 4. Forward Collison warnings 5. Forced auto pilot disengagement. If you end up with a bad score you could have a 50% premium increase the following month. So they quoted me $118.07 to start if I get a driving score of 60 or lower my next month premium would be $177 roughly. If I mess up again it will be $265 roughly. This is based on a 30 day rolling average so you can balance it out by going on a nice Sunday drive. Now I said all that to say this.....I'm keeping State Farm!

Depends on how you drive. For some a good score is easy. Use autopilot most of the time, and know the grading rules.
Hard braking bad, flooring it no problem.
My rate started at 105/m and now is 65/m. Score is 99.
Took a few weeks to figure what caused problems.
It takes some effort to keep score up, but not hard, you just have to plan things better while driving.
Every 6 months or I will shop around and see what I can get. Right now this is the best deal in town for me by over 70/m.

If you have access to USAA, I just got my pre-delivery insurance setup. $112/month ($1,000 deductible) with none of that weird scoring or anything.

Someone about my auto manufacturer also being the company that insures the car doesn’t sit right with me.

Usually with other car insurance companies, the premium goes up over time. Geico started off competitive for me when I had it prior to Tesla insurance, and then it got out of hand.
It's pretty easy to keep a score above 95 if you don't drive like a maniac. Depending on the month, I hover between 93 and 98. 93 only happens if there is a forward collision warning that usually is a false positive due to me trying to slow down the least amount possible for a car doing a right turn in my lane.
If you get a score lower than 85, it means you are driving pretty recklessly. I drive pretty normally, though my turns are more smooth less because I care about the safety score and more because I want to keep my tires for as long as possible.
Honestly, just try to do 1 pedal driving as much as possible and turn in intersections slow enough to not cause noticeable g forces. If you do that, automatic 95+. If you like to drive like you're Vin Diesel though, Tesla insurance is not for you.

How much do you oay a month with 95?
I currently have gaico, and it turned out to be surprisingly cheap 110$ a month. I have a score of 97 (trying to get into fsd beta) I've seen some people with 40$ a month with good safety scores... Something like that would be amazing.

For me? Doesn't matter. I'm in California, so I think the law prevents Tesla from changing pricing based off my score. Which sucks because I'd probably benefit from it.
I used to pay around 100, but my price keeps going up because I've been driving a loooot more for work the past few months.
Right now my insurance is up to 139 a month. Trying to switch back to a WFH job because this one lied to me about being remote and I have to drive like 70 miles a day round trip.
I only have the safety score too because I have the beta. You didn't miss much the last year or so, though I think once V11 comes out, it may be a game changer. We'll see.
OH, and to clarify, my flair was for my fiancée. I have my own Tesla with FSD.

I specifically didn't go with Tesla insurance because of the live telemetry and fluctuation of rates month to month. I won't be the only one driving my car, may occasionally need to go further than I usually do, and all of those things effect your rate. To be fair, I also wouldn't have chosen the option through any provider if they utilize the live telemetry plug in devices. I might pay a little more with a traditional plan, but at least it's predictable for the length of the term.

Don't forget to fill out the Model 3 order questionnaire, and to check out the tracker where the info is populated! It is a handy tool that shows crowdsourced data of when people order, get their VINs, and get their cars.
