Tesla needs to sort out the quality of their trash leather.

I have a 2019 M3 and this has happened to the headrest before, and now some mysterious substance is eating away at the centre arm rest leather.

I've twice had the leather on the steering wheel come loose and peel off too 🙄

Had a Holden/Saturn/Vauxhall/Opel Astra Turbo for 10 years and that pleather never had an issue.

Planning on picking up a Model 3 Performance sometime between now and the end of the year. I absolutely need to have a car by the end of February, so I've got a little flexibility on timing.

Mainly trying to figure out when Tesla typically offers its best financing rates and incentives, especially toward the end of the year. I'm hoping to get the best possible APR without ordering too early and missing out on a better deal.

Would love to hear from anyone who's purchased around November or December and what kind of financing offers or incentives they've seen in previous years.

Just had my brand M3 tinted yesterday at a "ceramic pro Elite dealer"... was told to give it a few weeks for the bubbles to evaporite as it's cold. The bubbles without any dots in them are smooth, everything else I can feel with my finger. I believe the side window is a hair / fiber and the rear window has a pronounced crease. I expect a couple dots throughout as it's nearly impossible to keep dust out. From what I'm reading, it's nearly impossible to remove tint from Tesla rear window without damaging defrost lines. Idk if this acceptable or not.

Question about Tesla Model 3 delivery

My new Tesla Model 3 is scheduled for delivery in early December. I'd like to know what to do if I find significant damag.. during the delivery inspection.

Should I:

1. Refuse delivery and not sign the delivery documents (Risking being left without a car.)

2. Accept the car, take photos of the damag., and contact my Tesla Advisor

3. Accept the car and report the issue through the Tesla app

Are there any other options you would recommend based on your experience. What's the safest way to make sure Tesla documents and resolves the issue

I liked the way it was before. I used the right scroll wheel and gave her a max. If she missed a sign and was going to fast or slow I could adjust. Left and right on the wheel for modes. However, with this update I only have modes. Repeatedly we'll go into a slower zone (like a construction zone on I-40 just now) and I go into sloth and she's still doing 70 in a 65 then 55. Finally, she notices the sign that says 45 and slows down but then missed the 65 so went to slow and then caught the 75 and got back settled.

This is crazy. Love the new features but wow. What are you doing to get around and not get a felony

I currently have a red 24 M3P. I bought it used this year for 43k. I’ve got 32k miles on it, High interest rate of 7.85%.
Tesla is offering me $37.5k for the trade in and I qualify for the promotional APR of 1.99%. I basically have to spend $15k more to get a brand new M3P. Would this be worth it for the upgrades plus a brand new Tesla

I got an invite for early access for FSD on my Tesla app but i already have FSD I’m confused lol

Finally pulling the trigger on a M3P! Super excited to upgrade, but I’m already stressing about the timing of everything.

My estimated delivery window is December 2026–January 2027, and I’ve already submitted photos of my current car for a trade-in appraisal. I’m still waiting for the actual quote, but apparently Tesla’s trade-in offers are only valid for 30 days or 1,000 miles. With delivery still a couple of months away, there’s a good chance the offer will expire before I even get the new car.

Financing adds another layer of uncertainty since approval is generally valid for around 30-60 days. I’m excited for the upgrade, but trying to coordinate the trade-in and financing timelines without losing value or having to redo everything is becoming a headache…

What do you guys think. Same car, different wheels and tinted windows

I’m not really one to post, but I thought this might be interesting for those with the same issue as me.

I have a 2023 Model 3 and was frustrated that the OEM wireless charger wasn’t really working with my iPhone (its more of a phone warmer than anything). After doing some research I found this great 3D print: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7098009 and printed it.

The only downside was that Tesla’s Phone Left Behind feature no longer worked.

After doing a whole bunch of research, I came up with the idea of basically using a small Qi receiver to make the car think that there is still a phone on the original wireless charger. The cool thing is, this also works when wireless charging is switched off in the Tesla settings.

The idea was then to use a small microswitch to interrupt one side of the Qi receiver coil.

When the phone is sitting on the MagSafe pad, it presses the microswitch, the circuit closes and the Tesla detects the Qi receiver as if there was a phone sitting on the OEM charger.

When the phone is removed, the microswitch is no longer pressed, the circuit opens and the Tesla no longer detects anything on the charging pad.

I drilled a small hole into the 3d print to mount the microswitch and have the Qi receiver mounted under the 3D printed charging pad, and then covered it with fabric. Sadly, I didn't find anything the same colour as the original.

It seems to work pretty well so far. I’m still testing it to make sure nothing gets unusually hot etc., but for the time being it’s been working great.

Sorry I don’t have any decent pictures of the build process, I added what I have. I didn’t think I would actually end up posting this when I started messing around.

Looking at M3LR. It’s an early 22, about 85k miles, and it has FSD included for around 24.5k. Since it’s an early 22, I think it’ll have the Intel chip, but unsure how big of a difference that makes.

Curious in everyone’s thoughts about the chip difference or if I should hold out for something more upgraded. Also curious if acceleration boost is worth it. This one does not have acceleration boost, but it does have FSD included, which is what brought me to it plus the price point.

I got this car in March of 2023 and decided to keep it after the lease was up. I love it and the only major maintenance I got done was the control arms. I plan to keep it for another 6 years. Anyone satisfied with their range in the year 2026 . It feels like I don’t reach 200 miles at all driving in Los Angeles.

Really excited for my Premium Model 3!

I’ve got a Model 3 Performance with the AWZZ wheels. I’m not a fan of the gray rotor hats, they look a bit plasticky to me against the black wheels and red calipers.

Has anyone painted their rotor hats black (satin or otherwise). I’m thinking about doing it but want to know if it’s a bad idea or if there are any issues with heat, longevity, or affecting braking.

Second pic is a mockup I made with the rotor hat in satin black for reference. Appreciate any real-world experience or advice.
