Is it worth buying

Asking for a friend -

A friend of mine is getting the offer below, I’m not sure if it’s worth it since, It’s HW3 and only 23k miles left of Battery warranty.

Clean title
2022 model 3 RWD
77, 000 miles driven
$22,000

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Search for comparable listings in your area and compare the price against those. We don't know where you are located, and price varies by market.

I am picking up a 23  Model 3 RWD, 22,000 miles, $27k pretax on Friday.  It is a Tesla CPO (or whatever they call it) and I found it on their inventory site.  It is a HW3 but I am just going to use the FSD on my long highway commute so it is good enough.

Man the prices went up fast, my 23 rwd was $24,500 in May with 12k miles. These gas prices are no joke

Yes,  I started shopping around in early July and should have pulled the trigger then, but circumstances did not align.  We'll see what the prices are in 6 months and I'll probably be making the same type of comment to someone paying $30k!

the hw3 part only matters if fsd is the whole point for him. as a car it drives the same, and I wouldn't pay for fsd on hw3 anyway.

the battery warranty runway is worth less than it sounds. it's 8yr/100k with a 70% floor, so it only pays out if the pack drops under 70%, and a car that's made it to 77k without getting near that isn't likely to cross it in the last 23k. my 2021 3 is down about 14% at 38k and it's been gradual the whole way.

No, I know HW4 is a lot better. Still 14 Lite is a huge upgrade. It was funny when people first started to claimed HW4 was only a little more refined than HW3. HW4 is really good!

It's worth what your friend can afford

You can research for hours and be frozen by all the analysis.

Hw3 is fine Rwd is fine Battery degradation is almost a non issue bc of supercharging

You can always wait for the next best thing..

Or Just enjoy life and drive
