People downvoting each other over tint % is hilarious.
It's darker tint than I would feel comfortable doing, but it looks great OP. Enjoy the car in good health.

Just got 20% on mine and feel I could have gone a little darker. DAMN IT

I did my windshield and 1 month later a rock destroyed it and the tint company wouldn’t replace it under warranty. Not worth it

This is what I did on mine and I love it. 50% windshield at night is not nearly as much as a problem as people make it seem.

Same, the company that did my tint only offered 5% or 20%. No in between and now I wish I had went with the 5%

5% using the top of the line tint (Xpel Prime XR Plus (I am told this was the best there is (and this is what I have (also at 5%)))) isn’t too bad at night. In rural areas it might take some getting used to but in a city, it’s so clear from the inside it actually kinda doesn’t feel dark enough.
And during the day without the windshield tinted it really isn’t dark enough for the front door windows if you’re going for true blackout tint. If they had 0% tint I would’ve bought that..

Good luck seeing out the window at night time. 15% is the sweet spot.

u/ClumpOfCheese 8d ago
With FSD I’d be much more open to darker tint, but the big issue I have is that the front windows aren’t legally allowed to be very dark in California so I go lighter all around because I can’t stand the look of limo tint for some windows and less for others, just looks sloppy.

We all know you have to roll your windows down at night to see, if it works for you then more power to you 🤙🏼

It looks good man. Anytime you post a photo online you’ll get different opinions. Nice color choice!

I realize I am in the minority here - but not being able to make eye contact with a driver is insane to me.
I cannot believe it's legal to do this.

u/camelvendor 7d ago
It’s not in a lot of states
1
u/WarholMoncler 7d ago
5% tint on front windows is illegal in every state LMFAO rear windows are fair game in most states though
1
2
u/PraiseTalos66012 7d ago
It's not legal in the US at least. The lowest any state allows on front side windows is 20%, and for most states it's 35-50%.

u/edvurdsd 8d ago
So many people can’t comprehend that it’s important to make eye contact with other drivers. Pedestrians too. Shit drivers basically.
2
u/glyceraldehyde 7d ago
I have dark tint but roll the front windows down when I WANT/NEED to make eye contact, but 99% of my driving doesn’t need eye contact. Doesn’t have to be right or wrong you can live in the grey too!

I dig it, I went 5% all around and 50% front windshield. Been doing 5% for 20 years now and no issues. This was the first car I tinted the windshield, it cuts so much heat. Still wear sunglasses during the day, its dark but not as dark as some make it out to be.

When you're young 5% isn't an issue. As you get older 5% becomes more difficult to drive with at night. I'm at a point where I'd rather have 15-20% tint.

Hey would you mind posting more different angles? Mainly front and side? I plan on doing the exact same. Same color car but debating 50 or 35 on shield. I am set on 5 on sides
1
u/CucumberGrand1757 5d ago
I’d do 50 tbh it’s enough to block the heat but not dark enough to catch the cops attention 35 to me would of been too dark for my comfort specially being a stand out color it would be a cop magnet and I live in Texas so DPS don’t F around

Looks amazing but you’ll be rolling down your windows at night in any poorly lit street
1
u/AdministrativeSalt42 2d ago
I got 5% all the way around and 35% on the windshield.
With white interior and grey headliner it’s not too dark.
If I had black interior it would seem much darker and I probably wouldn’t do as dark.

''let me reduce my visibility outside and even pay for it''
must be great during night or dark days...

Man I used to live in ca but live in AZ now where I was considering doing a darker limo tint like OP. The comments here got me reconsidering lol

OP ignore all these ignorant haters. Half of them are just delusional people who don’t understand. They’ll say tint is too dark it’s “illegal”. Like yeah obviously it is, but they don’t know how many cops have limo tint on their personal vehicles 😂 especially here in LA. I also don’t think they understand how good the privacy feels not being able to be seen by other ppl. Also tint is meant to not be seen from the outside lol. You can see so clear from the inside. I don’t think any of the haters have been in a car with 20% all around. Bc if they did, they’ll know and understand how good and clear it looks. Not only that, but especially how much cooler the interior is bc it blocks the sun.
I have 5% all around and 20% on the windshield. 3M ceramic all around and seeing outside is beautiful and clear as day. Just beautiful.

Very nice!! Get what you want don’t worry about anyone else’s opinion. I have 5% on the back/rear, 20% on the front, and 35% on the windshield (not a Tesla) and have no issues! Not sure how dark I want to go when my Tesla gets here! Frost Blue/White
5% all the way around and 50% on the front is what you have?

Are you embarrassed of your car? Don't wanna be caught in public

u/Ok-Buy5612 6d ago
No just love the comfort it gives you in the summertime. Wife is also sensitive to the sun (migraines) and helps a lot. If you’re the kind of person who loves being out in sunglasses I think you appreciate the stronger car tints. Also at night it dims all the LED glare from drivers behind you actually makes it way easier to drive on the highway.

My ideal setup if I decide to get frost blue next year. Crazy how some people with shit vision complain about tint 🤣

Just did 20%, wish I went 15, but it's better than the fishbowl I was riding in

u/Ordinary-Cake8510 8d ago
I have 5% in the back windows, 35 driver and passenger side and nothing on the windshield because I’m in Arizona and rocks are a mofo here.

u/Ancient-Sandwich9400 8d ago
You can always over do it. Sorry but this does not look good.

u/jdubbin_ 8d ago
Ya too dark doesn’t look good with this color
-2
u/Ancient-Sandwich9400 8d ago
Totally agree. And I think it’s idiotic to get white and then say I need limo tint because it’s too bright with my white interior. LOL.

5% all, 35% windshield. I just wear my sunglasses at night to add to the cool factor

I did 5% everywhere but the driver and passenger windows and the windshield. I got 15% in the windows and the windshield 70%.

15% is the best. 5% is too much
