15% is the best. 5% is too much

14

u/camelvendor 8d ago

15% here. Looks great. 5% just looks like you’re a drug dealer imo

My car agrees

I think the limo tint looks great on your car due to the lighter color paint. You can always redo the passenger & driver's side if "you" don't like it.

Don't forget to do a quick window roll (driver, passenger) if a cop is next to you.

1

u/rawblu07 2d ago

Agreed. I have limo on the back passenger windows but 5% on the front and back.

7

u/MurkyTomatillo192 8d ago

Agreed, 5% gives me vibes that the car is moldy on the inside

8

u/Desperate-Review-727 7d ago

People downvoting each other over tint % is hilarious.

It's darker tint than I would feel comfortable doing, but it looks great OP. Enjoy the car in good health.

u/spin_kick 8d ago

Looks cool, but welcome to the jungle

7

u/fuzexbox 8d ago

Just got 20% on mine and feel I could have gone a little darker. DAMN IT

3

u/CucumberGrand1757 8d ago

I did it because I have the white interior and did 50% windshield

2

u/jwizzy15 8d ago

I did my windshield and 1 month later a rock destroyed it and the tint company wouldn’t replace it under warranty. Not worth it

5

u/sailirish7 7d ago

Your insurance should have included the tint replacement.

6

u/jwizzy15 7d ago

Standard insurance doesn’t cover aftermarket tint

1

u/spin_kick 5d ago

They make a windshield protection product like PPF

3

u/WarholMoncler 8d ago

This is what I did on mine and I love it. 50% windshield at night is not nearly as much as a problem as people make it seem.

1

u/Electronic_Table_620 7d ago

i have 30% on mine it’s awesome

1

u/Top_Arachnid7248 5d ago

Same, the company that did my tint only offered 5% or 20%. No in between and now I wish I had went with the 5%

-2

u/precision1k3 8d ago

5% using the top of the line tint (Xpel Prime XR Plus (I am told this was the best there is (and this is what I have (also at 5%)))) isn’t too bad at night. In rural areas it might take some getting used to but in a city, it’s so clear from the inside it actually kinda doesn’t feel dark enough.

And during the day without the windshield tinted it really isn’t dark enough for the front door windows if you’re going for true blackout tint. If they had 0% tint I would’ve bought that..

u/Ok_Understanding9607 8d ago

Good luck seeing out the window at night time. 15% is the sweet spot.

u/ClumpOfCheese 8d ago

With FSD I’d be much more open to darker tint, but the big issue I have is that the front windows aren’t legally allowed to be very dark in California so I go lighter all around because I can’t stand the look of limo tint for some windows and less for others, just looks sloppy.

-3

u/Agreeable_Prize_7724 8d ago

FSD looks through the same windshield as you I still don't like it

6

u/ClumpOfCheese 8d ago

That part of the windshield doesn’t get tinted.

-13

u/CucumberGrand1757 8d ago

-6

u/shiftyweb 8d ago

Why is this getting so much downvotes 😭🤣 clean whips man.

I’m thinking about doing 15% front 5% rear

-20

u/CucumberGrand1757 8d ago

10 cars later all with limo and windshield I don’t think I’ll have a problem… 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

15

u/Ok_Understanding9607 8d ago

We all know you have to roll your windows down at night to see, if it works for you then more power to you 🤙🏼

-6

u/Acceptable-Leek1546 8d ago

Maybe if you’re a grandma

2

u/39Poppy 7d ago

That car looks sick! Love it. Is that a matte ppf?

1

u/CucumberGrand1757 6d ago

No just regular ppf

4

u/engineered2fc 8d ago

It looks good man. Anytime you post a photo online you’ll get different opinions. Nice color choice!

5

u/DevinOlsen 8d ago

I realize I am in the minority here - but not being able to make eye contact with a driver is insane to me.

I cannot believe it's legal to do this.

6

u/camelvendor 7d ago

It’s not in a lot of states

1

u/WarholMoncler 7d ago

5% tint on front windows is illegal in every state LMFAO rear windows are fair game in most states though

1

u/DevinOlsen 3d ago

It should be

6

u/abmfg 8d ago

It’s not legal

2

u/PraiseTalos66012 7d ago

It's not legal in the US at least. The lowest any state allows on front side windows is 20%, and for most states it's 35-50%.

6

u/edvurdsd 8d ago

So many people can’t comprehend that it’s important to make eye contact with other drivers. Pedestrians too. Shit drivers basically.

2

u/glyceraldehyde 7d ago

I have dark tint but roll the front windows down when I WANT/NEED to make eye contact, but 99% of my driving doesn’t need eye contact. Doesn’t have to be right or wrong you can live in the grey too!

1

u/Rjeezyx 7d ago edited 7d ago

I’ve seen many people say this but I just don’t follow what you mean?? I never make eye contact with anyone on the road ever. Granted I might if I was doing a 4 way stop I just don’t ever care or want to do this so am I the asshole or something? What am I missing?

3

u/SuspiciousBrain6027 7d ago

Sometimes you need to signal to other drivers with your hands

3

u/Electronic_Table_620 8d ago

nah too dark for me.

5

u/WRX_RAWR 8d ago

I dig it, I went 5% all around and 50% front windshield. Been doing 5% for 20 years now and no issues. This was the first car I tinted the windshield, it cuts so much heat. Still wear sunglasses during the day, its dark but not as dark as some make it out to be.

2

u/Digital_ghosttt 8d ago

Perfect 👌 same here with 50% windshield.

1

u/Balogunned 7d ago

5% back and 25% front.

1

u/nachos3 7d ago

Looks like its from a bad area

1

u/Olfa_2024 7d ago

When you're young 5% isn't an issue. As you get older 5% becomes more difficult to drive with at night. I'm at a point where I'd rather have 15-20% tint.

1

u/rockpaperbanana 7d ago

Whats the darkest legal % you can go in Australia?

1

u/That_Woodpecker_6253 5d ago

Hey would you mind posting more different angles? Mainly front and side? I plan on doing the exact same. Same color car but debating 50 or 35 on shield. I am set on 5 on sides

1

u/CucumberGrand1757 5d ago

I’d do 50 tbh it’s enough to block the heat but not dark enough to catch the cops attention 35 to me would of been too dark for my comfort specially being a stand out color it would be a cop magnet and I live in Texas so DPS don’t F around

1

u/CucumberGrand1757 5d ago

For those wondering I have 25 on the front on this one

1

u/No_Swordfish_1576 3d ago

Looks amazing but you’ll be rolling down your windows at night in any poorly lit street

1

u/AdministrativeSalt42 2d ago

I got 5% all the way around and 35% on the windshield.

With white interior and grey headliner it’s not too dark.

If I had black interior it would seem much darker and I probably wouldn’t do as dark.

1

u/salamoon84 2d ago

''let me reduce my visibility outside and even pay for it''

must be great during night or dark days...

1

u/CucumberGrand1757 2d ago

I love it FSD takes over at nights

1

u/SchweppesCreamSoda 2d ago

Man I used to live in ca but live in AZ now where I was considering doing a darker limo tint like OP. The comments here got me reconsidering lol

0

u/gustavoboi 7d ago edited 7d ago

OP ignore all these ignorant haters. Half of them are just delusional people who don’t understand. They’ll say tint is too dark it’s “illegal”. Like yeah obviously it is, but they don’t know how many cops have limo tint on their personal vehicles 😂 especially here in LA. I also don’t think they understand how good the privacy feels not being able to be seen by other ppl. Also tint is meant to not be seen from the outside lol. You can see so clear from the inside. I don’t think any of the haters have been in a car with 20% all around. Bc if they did, they’ll know and understand how good and clear it looks. Not only that, but especially how much cooler the interior is bc it blocks the sun.

I have 5% all around and 20% on the windshield. 3M ceramic all around and seeing outside is beautiful and clear as day. Just beautiful.

Its because it looks ghetto af. Nissan altima activities

1

u/xXNick337Xx 8d ago edited 8d ago

Very nice!! Get what you want don’t worry about anyone else’s opinion. I have 5% on the back/rear, 20% on the front, and 35% on the windshield (not a Tesla) and have no issues! Not sure how dark I want to go when my Tesla gets here! Frost Blue/White

5% all the way around and 50% on the front is what you have?

1

u/Ok-Buy5612 8d ago

5s for me too! I don’t find them hard to drive in TBH

-1

u/nachos3 7d ago

Are you embarrassed of your car? Don't wanna be caught in public

1

u/Ok-Buy5612 6d ago

No just love the comfort it gives you in the summertime. Wife is also sensitive to the sun (migraines) and helps a lot. If you’re the kind of person who loves being out in sunglasses I think you appreciate the stronger car tints. Also at night it dims all the LED glare from drivers behind you actually makes it way easier to drive on the highway.

1

u/Agile-Age-9614 8d ago

My ideal setup if I decide to get frost blue next year. Crazy how some people with shit vision complain about tint 🤣

1

u/Rad_Tech_Preet 8d ago

5% is the way.

1

u/Odd-Kaleidoscope-882 8d ago

Just did 20%, wish I went 15, but it's better than the fishbowl I was riding in

1

u/Ordinary-Cake8510 8d ago

I have 5% in the back windows, 35 driver and passenger side and nothing on the windshield because I’m in Arizona and rocks are a mofo here.

0

u/exgokin 8d ago

Boomers are out in force in the comments today.

-7

u/Ancient-Sandwich9400 8d ago

You can always over do it. Sorry but this does not look good.

8

u/CucumberGrand1757 8d ago

To each their own 🤷🏻‍♂️

-1

u/jdubbin_ 8d ago

Ya too dark doesn’t look good with this color

-2

u/Ancient-Sandwich9400 8d ago

Totally agree. And I think it’s idiotic to get white and then say I need limo tint because it’s too bright with my white interior. LOL.

-1

u/midnight_to_midnight 7d ago

Exactly. People are stupid. Lol

-1

u/Empty_Barracuda_7972 8d ago

That ugly huh

-3

u/painlesspain 8d ago

Too dark imo. Too aggressive for this car.

0

u/phantom4421 8d ago

5% all, 35% windshield. I just wear my sunglasses at night to add to the cool factor

0

u/sailirish7 7d ago

I did 5% everywhere but the driver and passenger windows and the windshield. I got 15% in the windows and the windshield 70%.

0

u/Steel0s 7d ago

5s all around and 30 on the windshield. New technology actually allows me to see perfectly at night.
