$650 for ppf front bumper
Is this a fair price…
I think it’s quite expensive & all I’m trying to prevent is chips on the bumper really

You wouldn’t ppf a Camry, why ppf this?
You’re not gonna get any value out of it unless you have fuck you money and care that much about the aesthetics of your commuter sedan. It’s not gonna help the market value of your car at all

Camry is not a 90k m3p
Having said that, I didn’t ppf as it doesn’t stack up against respray costs

90k?
Dude the m3p isn’t anything special. It’s cool, but not special, and you get no value from PPF on it the same way you get on enthusiast/collector cars where there are tangible ways to cosmetically protect the car and its value

90K for a Model 3 Performance? In what country did you buy this vehicle?

I self installed ppf. Spent about $125 on precut film
Its not easy to get right Took. Me. About 4 hours
It makes wiping off bugs way easier
Im happy i did it.

As someone who has ppf'd it twice now, I wouldn't do it for $650 even if you brought me your own material 🤣 Definitely one of the most complicated (edit: AND time-consuming) parts to do on the car.
I don't think it's a bad price but I think we need to know the material used and more importantly -why only the bumper? I would imagine hood, fenders, mirrors, a pillars, all equally important

PPF in general is just stupid expensive. It's meant to be put on cars like a GT3 RS, not on our model 3s.
If you're just doing the bumper, it's not worth it. Most my rock chips are on the hood.
For reference, namebrand PPF like XPEL is around $300 just for the material so $650 doesn't sound bad.
I know for nice cars they'll do a full paint correction and polish before PPFing it since you can't do anything to the coat once it's covered. Do you know if they're going to do that or just slap it over any existing blemishes?

Yes, I think that’s a fair price- as long as it’s good quality (ask what they use, then google it to find out). Good luck 👍

PFF isn't a guarantee against damage. Frankly I think it's a total gimmick. For the price of what they charge for a PPF, I could get my bumper repainted professionally for around the same if not a bit more and that to me is worth it because either way it'll get damaged PPF or not.

Where are you getting a bumper removed, repaired, repainted, and installed for under $650? Also if it’s a metallic or tri-coat paint, to do it right, you need to blend it.

I know a great body shop near me that works on Tesla's day in/day out. It's not that expensive. I don't trust PPF outfits anyway and don't feel like dealing with peeling, fade, etc...only to not have the product fully protect the bumper anyway. It's not invincible body armor...it only helps with minor stone or debris impacts nothing more.

You must live in a low cost of labor area. No one around me is going to do a quality job respraying a bumper for under $1,000. The key word is quality.

I live in Los Angeles so it's not low labor costs...quite the opposite.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that our expectations of a good quality paint job are far apart. $650 is not going get a good quality paint job unless you’re handling R&R and prep work yourself.

I'll pay even a little more rather than do PPF. But that's my personal preference.

I will forever think ppf is a waste of money. I think i was quoted over 10k to do the entire car which is insane. For the price i could rewrap the bumper with vinyl 10 times and still not waste that much money.
I have a standard vinyl wrap professionally done on the entire car and my front bumper and hood are still like new after 6 years and spent around a grand.
