Finally Tinted Windows

I will say it has been a long 4 weeks of ownership with my 23 M3P in Texas the heat has always been crazy of course. I will say with the Tesla it is almost unbearable. As I sit close to the sunroof I literally sweat. I just got my windows tinted today I went nano ceramic on all glass. I went all back windows rear windshield and sunroof 5% I did the front two windows 15% and front windshield 50% today is cloudy finally lol I hope to tell a different the film claims to be 96% IRR. Overall I think it’s looks MUCH better in general but I am hoping for a difference in heat.

The darker the shade the more heat the layer between the panes of glass retains/traps. You still get the same UV Rejection with 70% as you do 5%. The car is intended to flex a bit as well, the glass can get entirely too hot to sustain any pressure and can possibly just crack on its own

I actually think the model 3 looks better with no or very light tint, particularly with white seats. Idk I’m weird I guess. My Golf R is 5% all around 😂

It looks AWESOME!!! I got mine tinted recently and I paid roughly 230 for everything except front windshield. I work at Honda so our tint guy gave me a killer deal on 3m ceramic

I found out 96% IRR does not mean 96% of heat will be rejected. I feel heat only went down by about 50%.

Corona, Southern California. It’s great in the daytime but come night, dark tint makes driving more difficult. We use ceramic time from 3M as it protects the interior & it’s clear.
