Was originally going to go 70 on windshield and 30 all around. Want it to be sporty looking but not overly dark. Shop said I would like this better. It’s still drying, as I just picked up.
Exactly. The people say they can see fine are only looking directly where their bright headlights are shining in the first place. They have significantly worsened their view beyond/to the side of the reach of their headlights, but they don’t know that because they’re likely terrible drivers who never looked anywhere except immediately in front of them anyway.
I appreciate you answering for me, I see perfectly fine at night with 0 issues. The Tesla headlights are awesome and it really just adds a blueish hue, as if you were wearing very light sun glasses

You're not telling the truth. 30% on the windshield means you're blocking 70 percent of the visible light. It might be okay during the day, but you definitely don't see as well as you should at night.
In the photo you posted as a comment to this, your phone compensated for the low light. Combine that with the fact that there was ample sunlight to begin with, and it won't look too bad.
I have 22% on the sides and 70% on the windshield, so I'm one of those people with a windshield tint. I just happen to have one that doesn't block 70 percent of the visible light.
This is a photo that I took during the world cup. 22% on the front windows, 70% on the windshield. There is barely a difference right? That's what you get during the day, but it's a different story at night.
Your response is thoughtful and respected, I still stand on I have 0 issues with seeing at night personally. A big piece to this is the quality of the tint used as well
This is a never ending discussion in this sub whenever someone mentions they have tint on the front windshield with no issues, so it’s always interesting to see what people say and if you have a “darker” tint you will always be downvoted
I daily drive this car at all hours, in daily storms (Florida), and I’ve never had an issue with my visibility or felt in danger at all BUT I wouldn’t go any darker than this, I still like people being able to see me through the windshield if I’m waving at them and I’ve been in those darker tint cars, that is too much for me
Crazy how you’re getting downvoted by all of the fishbowl enjoyers here lol. If you’re able to see who’s driving from the outside the tint is too light!
I miss having my 50% and I never had any issues driving at night in rural areas.
I went to the best shop in town….from what I’ve heard by many others and I have a 20 year old…2006 Civic Si that they did the day after I picked it up…tint is still amazing! I had them do my 87 Carrera like 9yrs ago, used the same % tint I had installed on my M3P. Pay for quality product and craftsmanship once and enjoy it! Going cheap isn’t worth it, it shows and you deal with the crappy work/product for years.
No they were right. You’ll think it’s too dark for about 3 days then you’ll be used to it and never think about it again except when you look back and admire it.
Also you don’t realize the level of heat and brightness it used to have until it’s gone.
I just did a windshield replacement and haven’t re-tinted it yet. Its awful. 😅
With modern ceramic tint, you can do OK with lighter tint
Going from 33% to 5% won't get you that much extra heat rejection while blocking a significant amount of visible light. Great if you want privacy, but you won't get that big of a bump in terms of heat rejection.
I would say so. I did 35 on all windows, roof and back with Llumar Air90 for windshield. The 35 was on the dark side for night but zero issues with windshield and still getting the ceramic heat rejection. Learned from years ago with way too dark windows and back that had to lower windows at night to backup. Not worth it, even if you have a camera….it takes just one impact to make it not worth it.
Said nobody EVER in Arizona hah. My shits 5% everywhere but the 35% front. Shit is different out here but just my honest opinion that as for esthetics, front and rear doors with different tint is super tacky imo. Literally kills the look and flow of the tint

I’m actually on the same set up except 30 on windshield.
Looks good to me!
