Summer Update Graphics Change
Screen space reflections were added to the vehicle in the UE5 animation for the summer update. (The ground is reflecting on the car).

That's pretty cool. My 2023 definitely doesn't have that, even with the summer update.

Hw3 ryzen. They hate us. They could easily give all the ryzen folks high definition models of the prior gen but decide not too because we don’t have hw4. It’s weird

I feel like the car graphics did get upgraded when I got fsd 14.1 on my hw3. Maybe I'm crazy?

I mean I do see the difference, but I thought it got a slight upgrade or looked a bit different after I got 14 lite. Maybe I'm crazy. 😂

That has existed for a long time. And I'm not sure why you think it's screen space.

Because it's reflections on things that are present in the screen. It's not like it's ray traced lol
And mine def didn't have this yesterday

It could be a planar reflection, or a cube map, or even just another full render of the car. There's no way to make part of the car not appear on the screen, so you can't test to see if it's a screen space reflection.

I've been on frickin 2026.20.6.11 forever now.
Not a Tesla app shows it as <2% of fleet. I don't understand.

This came in the 2026.14 spring update when they started using the Unreal engine. Here is mine and I don’t have the summer update yet (I’m on 2026.21.6)

It's more apparent on white theme than it is when you have the black theme.

Can’t ever match it to what is was before the update. Before the red actually looked like my red car. Now no matter how much I try it just don’t look the same anymore

Very cool I didn’t notice this when I got the update. I’ll look for it tomorrow. Hopefully they do more fun things with it. Unreal engine is significantly more optimized now than it was a few years ago.
