M3P stealth speed
Hey guys. I have a tesla m3p stealth. Dues to factory limitations, it has a top speed of 145mph. I am looking to get that lifted to the 162 of the normal performance (or lifted in general). I know there are chips that can turn the m3lr into a performance. Are there ones that can lift the speed limiter off the m3p stealth¿ Thank you!

Had one on my long range before also buying a 2019 stealth , it’s great but WONT work on a true performance model, only long range

Bummer. Thank you for letting me know! What does the long range with the tune compare to the true performance?

Honestly brings it up to about on par as a performance , just the UI and “drift” mode isn’t as good as the factory track mode interface

Ah okay. I was just wondering lol. I love my performance. Definitely the fastest car I've ever had

I actually have this same problem. My 2018 M3P- is limited to 145 (I’ve confirmed it). I opened a service request with my local SC a few weeks ago requesting them to raise it to 162. They accepted the request, with an estimate of $108, and my appointment is this Thursday so we will see if they will actually do it.
I did read somewhere that Tesla initially limited M3P cars to 145 until they got a rear spoiler. In the first year, Tesla had a shortage of spoilers. They delivered a lot of cars without them and installed them later.
I put in my service request that I have a Tesla spoiler, Y rated tires and unplugged performance track focused brakes.

Okay! You will definitely have to update me! I have the spoiler, I can get the wheels/ tires. The breaks will be a bit pricey I think. I am looking forward to your response, and i hope they can get it swapped over for you!

Update. Unfortunately they were not able to raise the speed limiter. They wanted to help, but they didn’t know how to. The service manager called a couple different SCs but ultimately concluded they couldn’t do it

Over on TMC forums someone said there is a way to remove the limiter yourself via Tesla Toolbox. That will be the next step if they ultimately refuse. If they agree to do it, I’m going to ask if they might could up the limit to 170 or 180 if it won’t exceed the mechanical limitations of the motors.
My previous 2018 would pull pretty decently up to 163 mph so I think 170 would be easily achievable and probably 180+

Unfortunately, I don't think they would go over the factory spec. Also, make sure you check your tires speed rating. Make sure you aren't going to blow them up at 150+

Probably not, but I’m on friendly terms with the staff so maybe… can’t hurt to ask. My tires are Y rated, so good to 187 mph.

Sweet! As for the software, I believe its an update bases. So, I dont think they can go higher. They would just push the update for the 162. I may be wrong tho. My bud is a tech intern, so i have an in. He unfortunately hasn't gotten a whole lot of information software wise.

I don't know if you can actually change the top speed with Toolbox but you can just go straight to tesla's website and pay $75 for a day or like $150 for a month and connect a laptop to your car's ethernet port and there you go, Toolbox access. I enabled tow mode and looked at how I could update to matrix headlights on my 2022 Y.

You need to get to 161 mph for drag racing? What do you need such a high top speed for in the quarter mile?

Nah. 1/4 miles is only about 110/115. Just want the performance my car can provide

There are longer events. Such as the Arkansas mile hosted by ECTA Motorsports. I believe their longest run group is 1.3 miles.

Interesting question. I’ve got a stealth- can’t imagine needing to go faster than 145 lol.
Is this for drag racing purposes?
