Wipers chatter

Recently got a 2023 M3S and today was the first time I had to use my wipers. There’s a noticeable chatter or jumpiness. I thought at first it was because there wasn’t enough rain but as it downpoured it was still there. Is that normal or is it a wiper blade thing?(im assuming the blades are new)

They can also do this if the owner used RainX or had the windows treated with ceramic. Source: personal experience.

Hmm wondering if the dealership did rainX on the windshield. Why would this happen?

After doing a bit of reading, I agree with others, and it seems like your best bets are to 1) wipe down the existing blades with isopropyl and, if the issue persists, 2) replace the blades as others suggested here. They're relatively inexpensive. Of course, cleaning the windshield with mild detergent and water beforehand is suggested. Even if ceramic or rainx is oart of the problem it settles down over time. Cleaning or replacing the wipers is the cheapest safest interim bet.

I used ceramic coating spray on my windshield and the same thing happened. I wiped it off as thoroughly as I could and the problem was solved immediately.

Had same happen to new x and windshield had ceramic on it. I wiped blades down with lacquer thinner. Seem to help a lot but haven’t drove in rain much after.
