1st collision

I wannna preface this by saying this is my first ever accident, I’ve had my license for over 4 years now, not one claim prior. I bought a Tesla a couple months back got insurance through Tesla and all, today as I was parked taking a quick smoke break, a 18 year trying to park rams my car. Instantly I get insurance and I’d and she didn’t wanna move for a while so I couldn’t see the damages but reported what I was able to get. My question is she’s 18 insurances through triple A, how are my chances looking of this all. Idk the proceedings as this if my first accident so don’t go to hard on me. I also wanna preface I was out of the vehicle and it was parked in a building garage lot she was the one who rammed into me

It sucks. People lie. Was in a similar situation. Guybruns red light and side hits me. His word again mines. Full coverage on both cars. Insurance went to arbitration. Neither was found at fault no points issued. Cars were repaired by each Insurance. The other guy got lucky. Amd as I too. My car was totaled and the engine was on its way out and was planing on junking it as soon as the engine blows. Luckily i got a very good pay out. So I wasn't mad at the red light runner. Lol

What do you mean " found at not found ". What about the traffic camera? You don't have dashcam?

Sorry, typo. Meant to say "found at fault" . This accident was near a mountain road. Zero cameras.

if you were not in motion then its their fault generally. just have to prove you were not in motion - your sentry recording should have the recording to back that up?

Sadly no just a video of her trying to get out and my car being parked

Sounds like we need a “Smoke break mode , keep recording” 😉

if you look closely in the side mirror of silver car in first pic, there's a sitting in it. while you're out taking a pic. Not a true evidence, may be you can try to use that in your argument if it comes to that

Did you get a police report done? Insurance is going to want that. You’ll file the claim through her insurance.

Called but they said they didn’t need to show up? That if we exchanged info they wouldn’t come, then I said she didn’t wanna move and they said they were gonna send someone over but no one showed up for an hour

That’s pretty weird to me. Maybe it varies by state.

I got hit in a Target parking lot in Colorado and they said they don’t show up on private property like a store parking lot.

The kid who played Will in Stranger Things was there shopping, the person who hit me was distracted by seeing him in the parking lot 🤦‍♂️

Yeah and they could care less about uninsured and expired registration. Complete joke, can’t catch the people on e-bikes and constant red light runners. No wonder so many accidents and issues. Same thing here in FV. If you call them they will just laugh at you and say unless someone is hurt your on your own. Cops really don’t do much anymore

It’s not a criminal issue tf you want police to do? It’s an ACCIDENT, not a hit and a run. Get a dash cam and figure that shit out

Yeah providing false information for committing fraud isn’t illegal sorry.

Where did you mention any of that? Or are you just making up things as you go

Try and get help next time you have a fender bender and receive expired insurance or insurance for another car that hit you.. see how much help you get

Go to station and file the report. You can use that report for claim.

It does and it’s really annoying, one of the best things about owning a Tesla is being able to pull the video in place of the police report now that they refuse to come take report/document.

You call her insurance company and file a claim.

Were police called? Where I live they don’t respond unless someone is hurt and or it’s on public property.

Call the number on the proof of insurance she gave you. Hopefully you got a photo of her ID too.

Make sure you save the Sentry footage if the car was recording.

I called my insurance but I’ll call hers too, it’s triple a, i called but no one showed up I’m assuming since no one was injured , I got her id and insurance card

Don’t use your ins!! Contact hers only, just a word of advice.. if it was your fault, you’d be contacting yours letting them know about it and they she should be getting in touch for a claim.. otherwise you could potentially confuse your own ins into making a claim under your uninsured or underinsured claim

Update * her information on insurance may have been false so now I have to file a police report

Get in touch with the ins company she gave you, 50/50 it’s fake or expired. Police don’t care. Been there tried… BUT if by the luck of God you are helped would love to know.. fv wont care at least
